Re: Aggragoth first battle in Lugh

#12
As i can tell alot of thought has been put into this strategy but i suggest tanks should be in a group with druids to maximise druids healing and buffs for the tanks and dps can be a separate group. Also i may be a little late to join as i have sporting commitments but i will try to get there as soon as i can.

On a side note we do need a adds group even if it is made up of 2 lower dps a low tank and a druid just to remove the stress of adds on top of the boss, even if there is one group of 8 helpful people to kill all adds who cannot stay the entire fight, or are just a good soul just trying to get xp. This may pose a problem with the roll for drops as more will want drops.

Also if theres a free spot i suggest a druid or dps joins instead of another tank.

But once again these are just ideas and people may not like my thoughts as usual :)

At this point, i would suggest the following:

1st: if you think you will be available and you are either lvl 130 or above (or reasonably expect to be) OR have a frost meteoric wep (that should work as a bane) - please let us know in this thread.
-include if you have frost wep
-include the skills you are best at (maxed) - especially druids and mages. This should help distribute ppl and assign responsibilities

2nd: once we know who we can expect, we can likely pre-setup what the most effective groupings will be, and what their main task it (agg or adds for example)

3rd: we should come up with a couple configurations of groups and strategy - so if things go south, Shadow can call for a retreat and we can regroup and try again. Hopefully before we have spent too many idols :)

There are about 18 ppl on lugh at lvl 130 or over and probably 1 or 2 additional people with Frost Weps. In addition, there are 2-4 other druids who can help. That is 24 potentials. My guess is that we will will get 16 or so who can reasonably commit. That is 2 groups. Probably one tasked to tanking and one tasked to adds and dps. We can ask the lower levels who may turn out for the battle to help distract adds.

i have some thoughts on stataegy but will talk later

thanks

Lukov, when Shadow and I were originally discussing this in-game and trying to figure out teams, both of us completely forgot about you. Not sure how that happened, but I apologize. We totally need your wicked bark.

I think xyn is talking about 130+ for tank/dps. This is simply so that those classes don't become a liability. As we know from experience, there's nothing worse than having the aggro management players in the group call for help because they can't handle even one add. We don't want that on Aggragoth.

Support classes of lower level are fine:
Druids of 100+ will be welcome, and I'm planning to bring my support druid as well. He'll only be around 90 by then, but he has some key skills including sufficient Abundance to make the tank resist the dragon's health debuff, and a wicked group heal. I will likely do books of alt on both druids once we know who else is going to be there. Gonna be a combination of good heals, and whatever buffs we need that others don't have.

There are a couple of mages in the 95-100 range. They might not be too effective for dealing damage, but fire cloaks and lures will help on Aggragoth himself, as well as the adds.

I'm not sure what, if anything, lower level rangers, warriors and rogues can add. Maybe if they have decent light heal, shield bash, and poison weapon respectively. But I'll leave that to someone else to decide. We don't want to have such a big crowd that we can't target properly.

Lightface (130 druid) skills - will be redone as follows:
  • Ward of Fire: 34/30 (includes grand ring)
  • Ward of Soldiers: 34/30 (includes grand ring)
  • Natures touch: 35/30 (includes royal ring)
  • Natures breath; 34/30 (includes grand ring)
  • Abundance: 7/30
That leaves me with 8 points to allocate. Any suggestions/requests?

Kaonashi (90 druid) skills - will be redone as follows:
  • Natures touch: 25/25
  • Natures breath: 30/25 (includes royal ring)
  • Natures embrace: 27/25 (includes royal ring)
  • Abundance: 7/30
That leaves me with 11 points to allocate. Any suggestions/requests?

Hello all,

First of all, thank you for including me in the main group. I will try to be 140+ till then to be of some use. :-)

I have no probs with plats etc. Just need to know if you wanna offensive or defensive configuration for this.

If offensive I can do quite a vast damage using vines, lighting, and storms touch. But I will die a lot probably because I mostly get agro very fast. Warcry will help here probably but still the tanks will die more often because the lack of heals.

If defensive I can go heal and group heal and probably fire and magic wards and bark maxed and one more skill at fair level I guess. But I must say in most battles with even lesser dragons the problem is that heal cast is relatively slow compared to the damage bosses deal and it often happens that the target dies just before I can cast heal spell.

So it is up to you what you choose I have no problem with any configuration of your choice.
