Now that I have your (hopefully) undivided attention...
The infamous impersonator named...lol jks i know the rules piggy
But seriously, a scammer is back amongst us. You guys know the one that makes impersonator toons and then stupidly showed scorch his main so we all sent him to hell?
Well, he climbed up Hades' cape and he's back in Belenus causing mischief.
This is a warning to everyone, tell your friends!
When a friend or trusted member of our community asks you for gear or transfers something for you, look out for their name in the trade window!!
OMG LOOK AT THE SPELLING AND THEIR LEVEL I CANNOT EVEN STRESS THIS ENOUGH
The font in trade window (AND trade request bubble!) distinguishes between these similar letters in normal chat:
- Uppercase i's ( I )
- Lowercase L's ( l )
- The number 'one' ( 1 )
Notice how they all seem similar? Well, in the trade window THEY'RE NOT. USE YOUR EYES PLEASE.
Also look at their level! How many level one A1ishia's do you find asking you for speed boots? One, and he's a jerk!
For starters, the real Alishia has a goddamn 1mil broom, she don't need no speed boots.
Oh, and in case you hadn't noticed (which everyone in belenus has already) SHE IS LEVEL 156.
Another way around this... If you get a whisper from a 'high level character' asking for stuff, just tell them to log into another one of their beloved characters.
IT'S SIMPLE:
scammer: Hey kiy
me: wassup character with a similar-looking name to someone who I know and love
scammer: I need to borrow your camo, 1mil broom, godly talon and full pathfinder...just the essentials, you know?
me: sure thing buddy, I'll give it to your druid... log into them right now please
scammer: no give it to me here pls
me: do you want to borrow my stuff or not? Log onto your druid now.
scammer: umm...how about f**k you noob *logs*
See? Simple.
