DL gear is always going to be a problem on how to distribute it, especially the main/off hand weapons because of the scarcity of crowns.
For the main bosses such as aggy/hrungnir/mordris/necro, the past few clans that I have been in have used DKP to determine who gets drops. It takes a dedicated, organized person to be able to administer this system, but it benefits everyone and diffuses arguments because it is transparent and fair.
Essentially, each person gains points for each fight they show up for. When something drops, people use those points to bid against each other on the item. The rules for this system benefit the people that show up the most, because they will have the most points to use. There are no accusations of favoritism either, because the rules determine who will get the drops.
Not sure if this info applies here or not, just wanted to throw my two cents in because it seems to work good in the clans I have been in. Sorry you felt like you needed to leave Revenge. I wish you all the best of luck.
Re: Why i left revenge
#22WOW....that's like a fantastic idea...maybe more work...but a great idea. Would also solve some of our issues of having enough people log for the bosses. (sorry...not *our* issue anymore...lol).
But yeah, having a more transparent process, one not so linked to votes etc would work better. As it stands now you could show until hell froze over and if a godly dropped you would have no chance at it
thanks

#23Coming from one of the oldest (game time) players left in Rosmerta
About gearing distribution theres many ways how clans do it , points/leaders chose/roll are most known ones
If your a good player and know what you doing you will get what you going for
If your a truble maker/ cry baby /no a good player based off other people rateing you (not yourself) then unfortunately no system will make you happy
There's "short cuts" in any system by sort cuts iam not talking about flaws
And every system isn't perfect
Every system goal is to gear who ,trying/best for clan
Just example from top of my head
Point systems "short cuts" asking a friend to afk you main toon at bosses when you not online cuz rules are only one person (main) gets points
Been in point system clans seen it happen
Few flaws from top of my head huge points for top bosses if its 3am when your clan scoops up top bosses then you can't/wont never make it to those bosses and wont get those top points
New players that start game (good players that know how to play an mmo )
Have to use ton time gathering gear/points at early stages
And to mooki happy adventures , will you be like ever other person that raged/upset/as bored left then asked to rejoin and majority was declined
.... Time will tell

Re: Why i left revenge
#25No doubt there are flaws with any system, and this one sure isn't perfect. But I'll go into a bit more detail to let you know how we do it on Arawn, since you seem interested. Feel free to poke holes in our process, because it will only make it better
(and I apologize if I'm taking this post off topic)
People get points for leveling and bossing
1) Leveling - you get 50 points at level 135, and then get 50 more points for every 5 levels you gain
2) Bosses - You get points for each boss fight you attend. If you show up between start and half way, you get half the points.
Aggy - 25 points (recently changed aggy to rolls only though)
Hrungnir - 50 points
Mordris - 100 points
Necro - ?? (Havent beaten him yet)
3) You only get points if you meet the clan determined level req for that boss (example: I think aggy is 130 to earn points, but you cannot bid until 135)
Bidding
- You accumulate points over time from bossing and leveling, and use those points to bid
- At the end of a fight, only people that were there before halfway can bid on the items dropped
- You can only bid on items that your class can use
- You can only bid on items that you meet the level req for
- You can only bid for your main character (unless preapproved by clan)
- Bidding starts out at 25, and each subsequent bid increases in increments of 25 (25, 50, 75, ...)
- You cannot bid more than the amount of points that you have at that time
- Bidding stops when all people but one pass or all players but one run out of points.
- Any items not bid on go to the bank, and can be bought at any time for 25 DKP
- Items can be turned back into the bank for 25 DKP refund
Transparency
- Points and drops are kept track of on a Google Docs spreadheet that everyone has the ability to look at
- Although the clan leadership keeps track of points and administers the spreadsheet, it is also the player's responsibility to know how many points they have accumulated.
To address some of the issues MadOnion brought up
1) AFK is a problem, and even mains do it too not just people dual boxing thier friend's toon. It's hard to see if someone is lagging or truly AFK. We keep watch and ask other clanmembers to tell us if they think someone is AFK. If they are AFK the majority of the fight that person does not get points and cannot bid.
2) For the most part, we schedule our raid times when it is most convenient for everybody in the clan. Aggy used to have a regular time before it went FFA. Hrungnir did too, but is rapidly approaching FFA status so we do him ASAP. Mordris has a regular time, and I assume Necro will too when we figure out how to do him.
3) To address the issue with new players having time to get DKP: giving people points for leveling seems to have solved this issue. Also, having a level req to earn points has done this too.

Re: Why i left revenge
#26Yea we called that points system sounds awesome (any system) when you have no cry babies
And we all know these things come up
HE WAS AFK!!!... No i was lagging
HE CAME AFTER 3/4 ... No at 49.99% (lol)
You forgot my last night points.... That he thinks he should of had (missunderstadning/ didnt quality for what ever reason)
2 toons per person to get points ... So ppl bring 2 theres and 1-2 friends ....
List goes on and on
A crybaby will cry everywhere

Re: Why i left revenge
#27lol..
issues always come up. Always. Its just a matter of which issues you are comfortable dealing with. 'Deal breaker' issues are a bigger deal.
as far as asking to come back and being 'rejected' you don't have to worry about it ***...but thanks for the thought....strange because it was like less than 20 min ago someone asked me to rejoin and boss...but everyone has their own ideas about things.
All clans have issues, sadly the leadership issue is the primary cause of most problems. Gens who sell drops while members are kicked for similar behavior. Gens with multiple toons geared while mains go without, higher level players and gens 'side gearing' friends, it all goes on...no system is perfect. In the end its up to the chief...it's their clan after all they can run it any way they like and its up to the players to decide if what they gain from it is worth the hassle.

#29James had a valid reason for leaving. All the crazy that came after is another issue..in any event, it is what it is.

Re: Why i left revenge
#30What i am hearing from this is you must spend most of your spare time playing to get points even if you are 190?
Drops? unfathomable i see players in horizons with dl and idc man up press on, you should be here to have fun, unless your in to competition and otherwise have different motives.
Not trying to start an argument but i remember being kicked from rev because i asked for frickin purple lions and people got pissed etc etc. Didnt think it was an issue considering i was putting in decent time lvling and trying to get to be with all the people with a lot of time to play that were already 180+. I often got teased A LOT, go lvl pj, youve been playin since 2011 pj, When was last time you lvled pj, It got me pissed but i stuck thro most of it. I am happy where i got besides that as a whole revenge seemed very diverse but thats what made it stick together, each person had their different views on the game and wanted a similar goal. If your gonna cry when gens have toons that are logged a lot for bosses fully geared something is up. You gotta man up
Besides that i cant say much as i havent been in the clan for the past couple months, but ive changed my views on how much i care about some things in the game. Im not gonna quit out because im not in top clan that has everything like quite a few players have.
Besides that, i understand mook what you mean and hope you stay in game and have a great time playin
