We’ve been very good boys and girls here at One Thumb Towers and worked hard all year on the Destiny Engine for both iOS and Android so we’re feeling just as frustrated as you are that we don’t have any news on a release for the iOS version at the moment. We’ve submitted to Apple and are playing the waiting game. It’s understandable at this time of year as I imagine Apple are inundated with apps to review in time for the holiday season. Once it begins to move though we’ll have some news soon enough. Keep an eye on the social media channels for info as soon as it breaks (Exec. Note – They’ll probably be able to hear us cheering and whooping before it makes it to Facebook).
While we’re waiting for the submission process the team is keeping busy with ongoing development of Gelebron’s Tower. The designers are putting the final touches to the quest lines and the placement of the mobs throughout the environments while the art team finalise the mobs and their animations and the scenery of the Tower. It’s looking pretty fantastic at the moment even if we do say so ourselves…and it’s not even finished! The next couple of weeks while we come up to the holiday season will be all about balancing the mobs and the loot drops and making final tweaks to the look of the Tower. We’re aiming to get the Tower into beta test at the start of the year to get some feedback from players in order to make it the best experience it can be.
Let’s not too far ahead of ourselves though. The Yule event is coming soon to iOS and Android and you’ll have plenty to do around Dal Riata fighting mobs, getting some lovely loot and XP. Of course this means that Samhain will be ending so hurry up and get those last quests in. We hope you all took advantage of the recent Double Plat weekend as we’ve got some cool Mystery Chest items coming up for Yule. Also during the holidays we’ll have a few more treats coming your way so make sure you check back regularly.
As this year comes to an end it’s time to start thinking about the coming months and we’re certainly not planning on taking it easy in the New Year. As well as Gelebron’s Tower we have ambitious plans to bring you more seasonal events than we’ve seen in previous years, our Mounts system (or should I call it Mounted Combat…? ;-) ), the introduction of a crafting system and numerous other features and improvements that’ll mean you and your friends and Clan mates get more out of your time in Dal Riata.
