It is way too confusing. I think you are expecting more people than what will actually happen on a weekly basis. You could try to just do 1-100 and roll the dice normally.

Also, I don't believe this was addressed, can two people pick the same number?

Im expecting 30 to 50 players the first time and then an addition of 10-20 players each time after that. And I'm also begining to think a two week roll or once a month roll would be better than a weekly roll

Ok, if it's on a weekly basis then you won't get an extra 10-20 people each. As matter of fact you'll probably lose that much. (if the entrance price is 10k+) This is because people will realise that they have a small chance of winning due to the extensive number range.
My vote, once a fortnight. 5-10k entrance fee. Numbers 1-100.
Maybe what you could try is 5-10 each fortnight then once every 2 months hold a big lottery with 20k+ entrance.

Basically with the current population I highly doubt you'll get more than 30 people at a time.
Good idea though, just needs some adjustment.

The biggest problem i find with this is trust for example ppl might thing ur playing favoritism and giving the collected gold to a friend or even an alt. For this to truly work imo would need to create a seperate website with a few programs running one program to take in each guess of players another program to randomly pick a number at a set time and shows the number on the website. Also would be cool to link the guess with the players name and displays the name of the winner so all can see who the winner is for that week.

I don't mean to sound like a cocky doushe bag but I'm pretty well known in this game and everyone trusts me, I have been trusted for months with full darkflame, and I used to run a dicing game where I would accept tons and tons of gold and then pay it out if i lost. I have payed out a camo charm, I have payed out full vanquisher I have payed out millions of gold and I have been a part of the game for a long time, I'm widely known and I would never risk my reputation for any amount of gold or items. I don't feel like trust would be an issue for us since I'm choosing teamates with an equal reputation. I also know that the new players didn't get to see me do all that but if enough high level players are involved in the lottery then when I advertise " join the Rhiannon lottery, the current pot is 480k"
They will think... Hmm well if other people are trusting them then so will I.

However I think your idea is badass... I love the idea, the only problems with it is I have no clue how to do that and I also have no idea how we would collect the money if the players would be going to the website and entering the lottery on the website. Maybe there could be a way they could request a ticket and then once they have payed, we would approve it. I'm not totally sure how this could all work. I really appreciate the post though. Please leave more advice!

The more I think about it the more im leaning toward doing a two week roll.
I was discussing with my CEO (sirblaze) and he suggested doing two lotterys.
One would be the high rollers lottery at 10k a ticket.
This would get a lot less people so it would be more of an incentive to do the high roller lottery.
The other would be 2k and it would be the normal tickets ( someone please suggest a cool name for the " normal tickets ")

And we are also debating whether to do the " normal lottery " every week or two weeks or every month
And the high roller lottery every week two weeks or month... ( personally I like the idea of doing the high roller lottery every week or two weeks and then the normal lottery every month.)

Sirblaze said people might lose interest if it lasts a month, I'm not sure if this would be true or not.

I personally hope to be advertising every day and then once enough people are playing perhaps we will get a lot of advertising via word of mouth.

For question 2- you should make a forum account. share the password of this account to every lottery team member. the team members can then post their lists on the forums and edit the post to add more names.

I'd LOVE to participate, too bad I'm on the wrong world. As others said the trust factor will be a huge issue, maybe you could ask (very politely) for admin to pick a number between 11-9999, so that people know your not favoring someone, this may be too much to ask of admin but it will only take like a minute of their time every week or two. For the list like others said copy and paste the numbers 11-9999 on a document, and then put it on a website everyone can see but only your team can change, then next lotterry post it again, I don't know how hard it would be to make a website, Im not very tech-savy, but I do know that there are some websites that allow you to create free websites, weebly is one of them. www.weebly.com, I've never used it but I know some people who find it very helpful.

A friend ran a successful lottery once on Arawn. It took awhile to organize, so I think a weekly lottery would be way too much for you to take on. I say this because I saw how much time it took him.

Anyways, he had people pick a number 1-49 with a 5k buy-in, and the winner matched the bonus ball number from the UK lottery. We did only one number per person so that someone couldnt tilt the odds in their favor. All money was collected by a separate alt character so that he could keep track of the money. I would suggest making the list in microsoft excel, probably the easiest way to keep it organized, and would be easy to put it in order.
