Re: Update on iPad mini and other device crashes

This is just incredibly dissapointing OTM. You knew it would be rejected with IPod 2 and iPhone 3 Support, everyone knew that. You just hoped it would slip under Apple's noses and everything would be cool. Because of your companies' ignorance and inexperienced staff, us iPad Mini users have to wait yet another week or two just to use the app. Over the past week, I have been incredibly dissapointed on how OTM handled the update and the hundreds of problems that came with it. I expect reimbursement for all iPad Mini and even all people who can play for dealing with the huge amount of bugs and glitches that literally made this game unplayable. And for all these people who will say, "Hey be nice, they're trying their hardest!" or "Be patient, all the issues will be sorted out eventually." This is their job. They don't deserve thanks, or gratitude for delivering an update that like I said, literally makes the game unplayable. And Unfortunatley for us, they aren't doing that job all too well.

It is beyond OTM's control.

On the one hand, OTM managed to support all devices before the deadline in order to keep its player base and keep these people happy.

On the other hand, those that are experiencing problems will have to download the non-compatible update.

Either way, one group of users would lose out and I don't see how anyone could have done better given these circumstances. If anything, it's Apple who is to blame for not allowing OTM to support older devices. When the update was released, Apple approved the expansion for all devices which means that it didn't slip under their noses.

I believe you misunderstood my post. Everyone knows the deadline for apps supporting those devices was May 1st. The first update didn't slip under their noses, support for these were allowed when it was submitted. What I was trying to say was that OTM was trying to make this second update slip under their noses, trying to sneak the lower device support in there, knowing it would be rejected. Thats like trying to get Direct TV on a a 4 channel TV set from our parents' time.

Correct me if I misunderstood your post again.

When the update was released and people started to report issues, OTM had to make changes so the crashes could stop. By the time they could release it, Apple's rules had been imposed. In my opinion (and I presume OTM's), the benefits of retaining some of the player base with older devices would outweigh the risks of having to wait a bit longer if the update was rejected by Apple. Imagine you were on an iPod 2G - you would feel that it is selfish of someone who can play with the update under review at the moment to complain that it will be later than expected, when you will not have support at all. You would be grateful that OTM made an effort to support your device.

this is a very ungrateful as well as ignorant way of thinking. You have no idea of what it is to have hundreds of players nagging on the forums about the same thing over and over again, yes it took a bit longer than expected, like the admin said OTM is not to be blamed for this in convince. If Apple would have said anything about those Divices i am 100% sure that OTM wouldn't not had done something like that. Yes you can call me what ever the wind blows into your little brain, but im with OTM on this one pal. :)
