You are all aware warriors respec to all str and get those numbers on a lvl 1 dog right? Not hits that can be done with a very playable build
I see dps warriors with the king hammer literally 1 shot things at 65% in the grove that I am killing as a Druid. Like just roflstomp in a second, something I have been fighting for a minute+, so maybe the definition of "dog" has changed. :). But regardless of the numbers, like dmg numbers it's the effect that needs balance.

That said, I don't particularly care, to me a DPS warrior is mostly worthless in a boss fight and I would much rather have 2 good tanks to trade aggro, one I can calm when I am losing them and trade it to other.

Was browsing around and found this info... It seems somewhat more promising

Hi there, in the new update there are a bunch of new skills.

Mages are getting a new higher damage nuke and also area effect damage spells. This should make them more unique damage dealers and differentiate them from melee damage classes.

Thanks!

Hey guys, I'm sorry but I don't agree about the mages being underpowered.

As you can see in my signature, I have a character of each class, mage being my newest one. At my current level (52) and with low abilities (370 fire), I can take down any mob up to frostroots. I never could do that on any of my other chars, and you might say that it is because I have full warden and lux items, but I just tried to take down a Bloodgrove Fellbrother (80) totally naked, and succeeded. Please not that I was also being attacked by 2 extra white wisps, 2 stars each, which I also killed.

So, overpowered or underpowered? Just depends on your build.

Maybe mages get weaker when they reach level 80 or so, I don't know, but I doubt it. I'll see when I reach 80.

EDIT: Just soloed a poison wisp naked, 30 levels gap...

i totally agree (yeah, i know, my main character is a warrior) but i also have a druid char and even though its only lvl 14, i find it extremely dificult to train, because of the crummy armor we get and the not so great skills (they are only good for healing, not for fighting!) why is that? yah, druids and rogues and rangers and all that are supposed to be helpers, but thay cant help if they cant even train all that well! maybe the game was designed for warriors, i dont know. but playing from all the characters point of view, i definately agree, there is something out of balance : /

Rogues - You should be doing so much damage per second that you dont have time to even get hit or tank. If you're bossing -- distract with quick strike will do constant damage without drawing agro.

Druids - If you're aiming to level you'll need to get a book of rebirth, gear up with focus equipment and dump all points into vit so you can tank. Lightning does atleast 250 after level 76, wrap them with vines and root aswell. No problems at all here. My druid ceva does great when i play him.. Druids are just under rated right now. Sometime in the future they will be needed again.

Warriors - Nothing to be said, they tank anything and everything while doing decent dmg aswell.

Mages - Same thing, my opinion best tank.

Rangers - Heroic Gloves, Pierce Helm, Connacht pathfiner legs, torso, boots Is some mean/fast dmg per second. Ranger shouldnt tank but is a great addition to any fight! Bolas/Sharp Shot mmm mmm mmmm :D
World - Taranis
Clan - Versus

Mage - Eljay 96
Ranger - Keul 85
Rogue - Videl 75
Druid - Ceva 77
Warrior - T4NK 80

Well white wisps are extremely vulnerable to magic damage so your shield should destroy them almost instantly without really affecting you, but congrats. And since items really have little to do with Mage abilities in the game until Update 3 naked or not that isn't so much of a feat as a naked warrior. But again, not trying to hate on your achievements just temper them with perspective, Fellbrothers are a challenge and nice job to take one in yer 50's.

I think some of the ire about Mages comes from the idea that you can leave a warrior afk and gain both gold and experience endlessly using rejuv items, but a Mage who can't auto-spell is kinda helpless to it.

That may be more an afk issue and that is it's own ball of wax, but you can't really refute THAT point.

Oh I see.. Well I hope AFKing will not be possible in the futures updates. It was okay when a few people were playing, but CH gets popular and there are more and more AFK players now. It removes some fun from the game...
Yesterday there were 6 AFK people on the 6 spawns at the bloodgrove area...

Strangely enough, the cloak hits as much on the white wisps as on the bloodgroves; maybe because the cloak is heat damage and white wisps are vulnerable to magic damage, not heat/ice

I was quite happy with my Mage for killing things it's these new warrior setups that have flooded server if I don't one shot kill it then warrior smacks it dead and I've wasted my time there like hooligans running from one end to the other one hitting everything and been able to one shot it isn't fast enough as during the time it takes to cast shards they have allready killed it
Doing Magic stuff since June 2011

Drizzt you are exactly right about balance.

First, I will acknowledge that yes mages can solo many higher level monsters independent of their own gear. I do the same damage clothed as naked. Also, the fact that you dont get resisted by creatures that are much higher level than you is a contributing factor. That is contrated with the warriors and other classes not being able to hit the monster without a certain ability level. On the other hand, warriors, rogues, and rangers are highly gear dependent. Their damage is very much reflected by gear. I mentioned all this in my post about how king's weapons gave other classes an unfair advantage.

Next, mages are not tanks. They have no ability to hold aggression. They have much lower armor than warriors. Mages are not meant to tank outside of solo and small group situations.

Kill stealing is a big issue. As more people level up and compete for the same mobs, sub par classes really stand out. The fact that some classes CANNOT compete is very frustrating. Morrgian is a very civil place and respect that you shouldnt take another's kill if they start. Some places do not respect that. So it is tough for these underprivileged classes to level. I feel your pain because i play both mage and druid.
