I would suggest getting 1 tank in the middle of the room and dragging all adds to him prefight. This way you are using 1 tank and not 2 for proteus adds which is an extra bash against heal

This is actually what we did last night because we were lacking tanks. Except the offtanked was at the side of the room, and he had people drag adds to him. I assume he stood to the side to avoid proteus AoE.

i think the adds cast that skill on themselves and not proteus although I may be wrong. We have been tanking adds and I don't think I ever saw proteus's health jump up until rage. If they do heal I think it's still more efficient to just tank them as you lose considerable dps having to kill them. The occasional 5* takes away even more dps.

The adds only heal themselves.

I've updated the strategy with the stuff here, and stuff we found out.

Another thing to add: someone left a comment on my youtube channel saying that the Power Surge AoE freeze skill only affects people standing behind Proteus. You won't get hit by it if you stand to the sides. I've added this to the guide too.

Havoc, proteus only heals when he reaches 30% health just past the 'r' in proteus, regardless of rage or not

All lures, lvl 50,
Rogues in one grp
Mages and Rangers in the other
Tank x2 on adds with support and the other on Prot
Lix up and WHACK him! We can do with 18 people (takes a while) or with a few more we make it on time so no rage timer
