Agreed when i take special mobs like crystalhorns, taxmen, goldleaf wisp, boars that give diamond tusks (not sure on name), and demonologists. I have to swivle my camera while i kill it. Shouldnt have to do that.

When i take on xp mobs such as green wisps, red unicorns, frostroots, and warden upgrade wisps. I have to swivle also and every time im looking for any claas that has the capabilitie to ks me and seeing as i am a druid that is every class. Yes i do solo warden wisps but i let people in who need for quest or clan members.

Ok ok. I have solved the issue. Mages and druids CANNOT compete. This forum was started by a person from the world of Arawn. Look at that server. Mages are very rare and abound in warrs rogues and rangers.
There are 25 people over 85 on Arawn. 1 druid lvl 89. 1lvl 87. 1 mage lvl 86. 2 lvl 85 mages.
There are 23 people over 85 on Tanaris. 1 lvl 95 mage. 1 lvl 92 mage. 2 lvl 91 mages. a lvl 90 mage. a lvl 89 mage, a lvl 87 mage, 2 lvl 84 mage, and 1 lvl 85 druid.
There are 24 people over lvl 85 on Morrigan. a lvl 92 druid, 1 lvl 90 mage, 1 lvl 89 mage, 1 lvl 88 mage, 1 lvl 86 druid, 1 lvl 85 druid.

So you Eljay your situation is very unique. You only feel like mages are not underpowered because all of you are underpowered. You dont have the same level of competition as we on other servers do. You dont feel disadvantaged because there are so many mages around you that do just as terrible damage as you.
On tanaris you have 23 high competitors. 10 of them are bad damage dealers.
On arawn there are 25 but only 5 are caster classes both of which are WAY underpowered.

Lets break it down by class stats. All worlds all classes.
Druid: 45 druids over lvl 85
Mages 44 mages over lvl 85
Rangers: 68 rangers over lvl 85
Rogues: 67 Rogues over lvl 85
Warriors: 186!!!! Warriors over lvl 85

Mages and druids have trouble soloing at high levels. Rangers and Rogues have less trouble solo with high end content. Warriors are at a huge advantage when it comes to soloing high level content.

Therefore this is not balanced. Obviously mages are the underdog just like druids. They cannot kill the monsters fast enough to compete. There is really no competition. I am fully wardened and with meteoric wand, and i can heardly ks a lvl 75 warrior still using a ancient 1h.

Im going to do a more in depth study once i get all my number. Please standby.

Arawn Active population around 667
Tanaris active pop around 561
Morrigan active pop around 730
Less people means less competition.
OK now. People start hunting Stonevale around lvl 60 or less. Im going to use lvl 60 because its less number crunching.

Arawn has 108 lvl 60+.
Druids: 16
Mage: 6
Ranger: 17
Rogue: 14
Warrior: 55
Tanaris has 115 over lvl 60.
Druid: 11
Mage: 18
Ranger: 14
Rgoue: 17
Warrior: 57
Morrigan has 102 over 60
Druid: 17
Mage: 10
Ranger: 17
Rogue: 12
Warr: 46

As you can see from these numbers, there is a significantly higher number of warriors able to reach the Stonevale hunting area. Normally there is not much competition leveling up to 60 because there are so many different places you can level. Once you hit the 60-85 level range you almost have to exclusively hunt Stonevale. Once you out level the fairies, you must move to the druid grove. After lvl 85, you must kill semi rare spawns to lvl.

The 85+ population:
Arawn
Druid: 2
Mage: 3
Ranger: 5
Rogue: 4
Warr: 10
Warriors are 40% of the 85+ pop

Tanaris
Druid: 1
Mage: 7
Ranger: 1
Rogue: 4
Warrior: 10
Warriors are 40% of the 85+ pop

Morrigan:
Druid: 3
Mage: 3
Ranger: 3
Rogue:2
Warrior: 13
Warriors are 54% of the 85+ population.

Crom
Druid: 2
Mage: 1
Ranger: 5
Rogue: 7
Warrior: 14
Warriors are around 50% of 85+

Rhiannon
Druid: 6
Mage: 1
Ranger: 10
Rogue: 5
Warrior: 16
Warriors are 42% of the population.

With the exception of tanaris mages are very low because they are not important in group settings. Druids atleast have the ability to heal and that makes them important. What do you need a mage for?
I also must say the development of the server plays a huge role as well. Once the other classes are able to hit often then mages are not as important. They are useful because they hit 100% of the time, unless you are using fire on fell or something. Once the server is mature, mages are not useful.

Nice research bro. The warriors on Taranis - you are deffinitely forgetting. They are ranging from 87-94 and there are plenty to go around! We just have respect. We may hate eachother, cry and yell at eachother.. but kill steals is one thing everyone agrees on to hold order on the server. Besides if someone starts kill stealing, it becomes war of clans, and we have already had Clan War I on Taranis... Wasnt fun. Ya there may be more people on your worlds, but honestly.. its up to the players to make the game fun or not. Sounds like your world is full of kill steals lol.. sorry

I'll address another subject real quick.

The damage aspect. I am not underpowered by anyone or anything unless they are higher level than me. That goes for any mage. My regen is faster than the warrior's swing with their gigantic damaged over rated slow weapons. If i want a kill, i'll get it! And another reason i dont feel underpowered is because i have the best players in the game as my best friends :D

There are more things in this game than just hack and slash. Plenty of other strategies like reverse psychology!

EDIT: You will also see that once pvp comes out, Mages will rule all worlds :)
World - Taranis
Clan - Versus

Mage - Eljay 96
Ranger - Keul 85
Rogue - Videl 75
Druid - Ceva 77
Warrior - T4NK 80

See. I think it is that order that allowed mages to thrive. Other places dont have that luxury.

Sorry about the length of my posts.

Also, I dont want all this talk about rebalance to say i dont like the game or im quiting or something because im not. I love the community im in and i like the game alot. I like it enough to invest money and time into it. I just want to see some diversity and balance. If they keep coming out with new weapons, then more people will make warriors and play them to the exclusion of mages and druids.

so on the money here. i play a lvl92 warrior lvl90 mage and lvl53 rouge. my rouge can nearly out skill hit my mage with iceking dagger in hand. seriously what is with that? my mage is basicaly useless in a boss fight as warriors and there icekinng weps do stupid amounts of damage. i hope this new patch makes mages mages. big skill hitting freaks. a lvl90 mage should hit over 1000 iceshards. mages are so under powered now with these iceking weps. i dont see the point in playing mage anymore.

Great statistics thanks for adding them

I like the points about how you cast attacking something and the warrior 2 handed power attacks it (perhaps a little late but sometimes at same time) and finishes it off in a hit. It's almost not even a kill steal, if any other class attacks one of the classes disengages people are polite. But it's not that the warriors are evil people, it's just that the issue is moot. The thing is dead. :D

It happens a bunch, is all I'm saying.

Again, this could be all completely moot once the update releases and lvl 60's & 70's will stay in the grove and the higher lvls will leave it to go to the new exp zones... So it may spread out a bit and with additional caster power added to caster weapons etc.

My point is with all of these issues, they may very well be completely solved in this upcoming update with new nukes and AoE's for mages and increased caster power for Druids.

Ya good job Marshill with the info. Anyway Mages need to get a skill to maybe buff armour? I know Druids have them but maybe Mages get one that lets them have a shield or something? It would make Mages something to be now. Sure with PVP that would prove to be a issue but its a nice idea. What do you guys think?

I know its a hard concept to get arround but you have a skill called Shield of Ice.

Also Mages are getting a new skill called Nuke. This skill is supposed to be a lst resort and all but you can use however you like. From what i was told it converts your energy and your health into all damage. Now with a skill like that who isnt gunna wanna be a mage cause a high lvl would hit over 3000 with a skill like that.

And i found another way to be usefull with my skills as a druid we all know we are limited and i maxed my roots out. So when my clan started attcking at the same time as the other clan he taunted and tried to push the icelord up the hill but i rooted it so adds would stay on his back and possibly kill him :) it was a better plan than using calm to change agro on healers and kill them off.

Ah but that drains energy quite fast... Meh i haven't played on my Mage since the update for that skill came out and I haven't heard about it in a while. Does upgrading it just lower the energy?
