Re: Update: Where are we with class balance?

Rather than argue over these fantasy scenarios and derail a topic that has many valid points, why not discuss what was actually intended by the original post?
Looking at the numbers in the original post, I can see how this game is tipped towards melee dps. My main character is a druid, and I can tell you that it is very hard to play and enjoy this game without dumping truckloads of cash on it.

I think rogues are obviously op and should get hit with the nerf bat but that's just me.
I second this.
There was a suggestion for this but it was shot down, i think that rouges should remain the same, yes we do insane amounts of dps with our melee and skills, but thats the upside of rouge. The things nobody points out is that we have crap armour/health, so it really does balance out. Our only job is to provide massive amounts of dps, and so unless you wanna make boss fights drastically longer by reducing our dps, then id suggest keeping it the same way it is.

I have suggested before with little results, that OTM should design weapons/armor/items that allow a druid to melee when needed.

For example:

Druid Staff
Hit: 175-250 range
Speed: should be fair
Bonus Damage: whatever
Bonus: 4000 Strength
Minus: 4000 Focus
req. 4000 focus

Basically having a staff that will convert your focus into strength, not really something out of the question.

But there are other needs that could help
- reduce energy costs!
- Allow dot's to stack
- Additional DPS spells
- Instant heal with high focus cost

These and more have been discussed for more than a year but nothing has been done.

I have previously played a game where each class would claim one class is to op and it deserves a nerf. And then another class shines after that and it to seems op and it recieves a nerf.
This cycle than repeats itself until each class is absplute rubbish. Instead of nerfing one class, they should buff the other classes to bring it up to the op classes lvl.
I do believe rogues are op, but they dont need a nerf, the other classes have to be buffed instead.

Druid has always been the least favored class in the game. As the original poster mentioned, our best dps skills do not stack, thus limiting the amount and effectiveness of druids at pretty much any boss fight. With the recent update, i feel like OTM has pushed druids more towards being primarily suport than anything else, while every other class has the ability to dps well. Even the endgame armour, dragonlord, gives druids bonuses to primarily suport skills. All in all, otm is pushing druids as a group towards the idea of a healing, buffing class, which would be fine, except that we kind of have no say in the matter. As Regenlief mentioned, there are only 7 of us druids over level 180 on Taranis - this is due to the sheer stupidness of the leveling system for druids at the moment. We are unable to level alone, and are dependant on groups of other people to kill things for us, which also decreases our xp gain, thus lengthening the entire process even more. Why? WE HAVE NO DPS. Honestly, I love this game, but otm should really try playing their own game for once and see how much effort it takes to be a pro druid...I'm not even going to go into the energy problems...

Did you really just say rogues have crap armour and health????? OH MY GOD HAVE YOU EVER EVEN COMPARED YOUR ARMOUR TO A MAGE/DRUIDS??? We have waay less armour than you. Rogues are op, but instead of nerfing them, why not just boost the other classes?

I'm sorry I'm still freaking out over that armour comment. How dare you say your armour is crap when a frickin warrior frozen bp is just about all of my armour combined.
