Woot! Androids almost out!



Also, I love all these selfcentered posts by people who think they are better then everyone else, and should have OTM focus on what they want instead of what is best. OTM has said again and again, that they are only releasing the new engine on Android first because it is much easier then releasing Android with the old engine, and then changing the engine a few months later. IOS will have its time, and they have said that time is soon, everyone should just be patient and wait, they will release it as soon as they can. Don't get me wrong, I can't wait for the IOS release either, but I realize that as a company, OTM can't make everyone happy at once, and honestly Android players have waited long enough lol.

To be honest, OTM didnt force all the impatient high lvls to lvl up so fast...

Btw as for you guys who say that android should be first or those who say that iOS should be first, I can see both your arguements. One of you said that android players have been waiting a long time for their version to come out. Well technically they haven't as outside of the stress test there are no android players. But I do see that it makes sense for the android engine and version to be put out together. I think what some people want to know is why they couldn't have put out the iOS engine first and then released the android version/engine. But it is what it is. Nothing is goin to be accomplished by complaining.

Lir's, Farcrag, Crookback and Dustwither are the only zones available at launch for Android and maybe it's just me, but as an IOS user, I would rather wait for the whole game as we know it be released rather than have a limited game in terms of content.

If they were using the new engine to launch the old Update 2 only for Android only, then yeah, go ahead and grab the torches and pitchforks.

I hate to be the downer lol. In terms of Android release, would this mean slower response times from the company? Taking care of two separate families of devices would be rather stressful, no?

Good point, the way I see it is that OTM has been wanting to get the game out on Android for a long time, possibly even before the new engine was being worked on. So it makes sense imo that they would want to release Android as soon as they could. Also, a benefit of it being released on Android first, is that it saves all the time and hassle of trying to work out all the betas with Apple, since Google Play allows open betas, they could (in theory) hear about and fix many more bugs then if it was a closed beta like Apple.

Basically I agree with your last two sentences, OTM is in charge, if they want to release Android first, then thats what they will do. All us IOS people can do is hunker down and wait, also drooling over every single picture and video we can get of the new graphics .




(Side note, that last sentence may not apply to everyone. It is, however, my reaction).
