So we lived through a double gold weekend.
What was your reaction?
Did it change they way you played that weekend?
What are your thoughts?

1) Lots of ksing.
2) Changed my way definately with luxury items.
3) Everyone rushed to bosses immediately.

its not that big of a deal... it was fine and all... but the whole game needs a gold drop revamp... yesterday i was on for 4-5 hours and only got like 200-300 gold for that whole time.. I really dont think its fair that we play all this time and the npcs are tough as sh*it and drops sh*t gold... I may not be logging in for awhile as playing and trying to aquire gold for the insanely high priced items is beginning to be a big waste of time and life...

MrBojangles, you are not going it in the right way, you should think of lvling before trying to get a lot of gold, once you will be higher lvl you'll gain gold faster

Yes you are right and i will lvl up... its just too slow for my liking.. The double gold event was fine except all the high leveled player ksing me in my low level areas i train in to try to level up... ill give it another go...

An auction house would be nice.. so i dont have to trade other players directly and get ripped off...

Well I missed most of the weekend but my general reaction is that double nothing is still nothing. Most of my gold comes from vendoring items mobs drop which did not get doubled. So I didn't notice any difference in gold drops.

6* bosses drop most of the gold. so if you didnt get to kill many 6 star bosses you prolly didnt gain much gold.

I enjoyed it, I made about tonnes of money that weekend. But the last day I found a great place to camp near fal killing druids. 1 round of killing them and I made about 1k which was awesome.

Considering the amount of people online that weekend. I very rarely got ksed (Or someone trying) because the OW is a big area. I also went for alot of bosses like usual earning upto 2k from some.

So yeah, big success. Hope there would be more weeks like this.

Double gold helped (alot NO) but there was an improvement. Personally I think the gold should be stepped by each world I mean each world you go to the stuff gets more expensive so personally I think OW gold should be permenantly set at 1.5 -2 X the gold drop really. I mean its still not like anyone got rich and it certainly helped the flow of Middle class lux items into the hands of some of the lower lvl players and gold drops from red bosses still out weigh OW bosses by a long shot. For example the new Lux Golden Quiver is 225,000 so if you average about 15 gold per kill (icluding most normal dropped item prices) it would take you around 15,000 kills to get that much money. Would really be interesting to know what the average kill per hours, then you could figure how many days of mining it would take to obtain some of the higher end lux items.

P.S. not all gold drops were doubled I got several 15, 17, 23 and 37 drops not sure how though cant really remeber ever seeing an enemy droping 7.5 gold before.
