Long time players...

#1
I know the Update is coming out soon and then were going to have tons of new players finding out about the game and playing it for the first time. What I'm concerned about is the long time players. Now I've been playing for quite a while, maybe not as long as some of you but that's besides the point. I've seen players come and go as they quickly level up getting more eager to play until they hit around level 50. That's when I started to notice on the Morrigan server that once a player hits 50 they won't be seen for days even weeks without saying anything to anyone. Now I want to know is this the case for anyone else? Does someone just play the game for hours on end then after they hit 50 that number slowly dies down until there not on at all? I know people will say "Once the update is out I'm sure most people will come back to play" but will they? The update should be out at the end of the week for Beta Testers. Now once it's ok I'm guessing I'll be a week for players to play and find all the bugs to prepare for the Update actually being released. So just that will take probably 2 weeks. Then a couple days to implement the changes and another week and a bit to have Apple approve it. That should be about 4 weeks or a entire month for this Update to come out. It may not be that long but what I saw from the last update that's what will happen... That's the time when School is now a part of people's life's. Probably half of the players are in some sort of school and the rest have jobs that comes before games. Im not trying to be negative about the game or the speed of the Update being put out. I'm thinking that of all the long time players who don't have to look forward to the beta are slowly dwindling in numbers... It may not be for everyone but even so we have a good couple weeks until the Beta and I really don't know how much longer people are willing to wait... That's my thoughts... You don't have to agree with me but think about how much longer your going to play the same game for a entire month without being bored? Ask yourself that before saying anything because the reality is for most people that's too long a wait, myself included.

Hi there

Thanks for posting, yes I agree with you completely about this.

The update is taking a while sorry about that - it was initially planned to come out sooner, however we have made some improvements which I think will be worth the wait.

We'll try to get them out quicker in future but we have bit the bullet with this one for a core game improvement over a quick bit of extra content.

This has not much to do with the topic, but could you fix the fact that players can do damage beyond foes health cap? Its like hitting 100 on a foe with only 20 hp left, which may be part of the kill stealing problem. As you are still polishing the update, I thought I'd just ask :D

Hi, thanks yes I just bugged that the other day as it's an issue that is causing inadvertant kill stealing.

Should be fixed in the update.

@ Dayton: this is why I stopped leveling my characters once they hit the 30-35 mark. I am a full time, very broke college student who is also trying to get full time work. I knew that new content and some new areas were on the way, so rather than spending hundreds of hours getting characters to insane levels I just stopped. Those who do have level 50+ characters will fly through the new content, getting the new best armor and be bored after about a month. New players will have the largest advantage of everything being new and some very bored, very rich high level players.

I'm of the opinion that these "old players" who have 4 or 5 level 50's have only killed the game for themselves. Patience is a virtue and new content will come when it will. So why not sit back, enjoy the game and play within it's suggested parameters?

Some of these people may not have left the game entirely. As has been stated, lack of new content has them bored with being cooped up in the catacombs, and they may have decided to wait out the update and continue playing when it is released.

As for me, I've got a warrior that has reached lvl 46 and I've pretty much stopped playing him, because he gets so little exp. My rogue is still gaining decent ground at lvl 38, and in the meantime I've rolled a Druid (since there are only two high level Druids in the Belenus server, both with other characters that they play as well). So far my Druid is 17 and I'm really enjoying it.

If you're getting to the point where you don't get much xp at all, it may be a good idea to branch out, and work on another character. You may enjoy a different class even more than the one you have. Or, find something else to do while you anticipate the massive expansion.

I agree after u barley get experience branch out make a new class I have a lvl 52 warrior and I love being a warrior but it got boring barley getting xp so I made a Druid and after u have been cooped up in the catacombs for a long time you forget what it is like on the surface so it's like completely starting the game over with a different class type so if you get bored make a new character

Zrute lvl 51 warrior
Zhealer lvl 17 Druid
Clan nemesis
World mabon
Zagic lvl 185 mage
Zhealer lvl 100 druid
Zrute lvl 94 warrior
Zologolas lvl 82 ranger
Zhief lvl 57 rouge
clan Wolfgang
world mabon

First off, thank you for making the game in the first place it's something that's rarely done on the App Store to have a Mmo as good as this one for free and I'm thankful for that.

Yes the players who have multiple level 50 accounts must really love this game to do that because I've tried each class at one point or another to see if I would like to play on them. The thing is though I find myself often just camping my skills to reach a point where I can be as effective as possible at the level I'm at. (I tend to not Uprade skills because the Damage done for the number of energy is simply not worth it.) Now why do that on a new account when I could do the same thing on my Rogue for the First Aid ability? That's what's keeping me going for now until I Reach the Beta and hopefully I hit 560 about the time the Beta is out.

I don't even know if this is feasible, but could a patch be pushed down that would increase the rate of higher EXP mob spawns (such as the skeletons aka "spines" in the Donn's room)? I'm just about to level 55 and it is agonizing waiting for them to spawn.

This is the downfall of a lot of iPhone MMORPGs... They don't have enough end game content. I don't think Celtic Heroes is going downhill at all - its going up. However, there needs to be something to keep people playing after they reached the desired end level. I'm so bored that I'm maxing out all my abilities because I've obtained the best armor, the level I want, and I'm left with nothing to do. Crafting would be a great suggestion for this - something that can keep players pushing until new content.
