I've recently started buying the Quartz gear (bow and hood), but I'm finding it increasingly hard to keep getting enough gold to buy the rest. I can only imagine when the time comes that I will want to buy the Diamond gear.

So this thread is all about making money. How do you make your mulah?

Me personally, I make my money by spending real money on plat and buying Knowledge elixirs and then selling them for whatever market price is.

Farming, Farming, Farming. Collecting, Collecting, Collecting.

As your farming mobs collect any gems or fettles and once you get 50 or 100 just shout out that your selling them for x amount each. If you are using fettles for xp, then resell the health potions that you get from the quest reward. Any item drops that you get in shalemont, sell in stonevale. If you sell all of those connacht spears, etc.. in shalemont you get 23g or so and in stonevale you get 50g for the same item. Generally farm mobs that are half of your current level, when farming for cash you want to kill mobs as fast as possible with no downtime. Any quest items or item upgrades that drop sell by shouting out, dont sell these to a vendor. Even hard to get (for noobs) regular mob dropped items, such as spears and shields can be sold in Lirs for a profit. There are some tips that make it "easier", but in this game getting cash is a exercise of extreme patience and lots of work.

Check for a few days to see what ppl are shouting that they want--most common on Lugh are super knowledge elixirs, super combo elixirs, and then alt and rebirth books. Buy those at bulk discount and sell at a reasonable market price that you set. Do not budge because you're anxious to get money more quickly. You'll flood the market and lower the price for everyone. OW is where the big money is spent, so get there by hell or high water.

Agree with Stinky, but with more details. Pick up anything worth money you see on the ground. Do repeatable quests that pay: fettles; nettles, mugwort, thyme; kill alemaster quest. Write a list of what the quest items are so you don't waste time shouting to sell sapphires, for example, when they're not good for anything but selling to a vendor (personal pet peeve of mine). Also keep a list of the best place to sell drops: tanned sheepskin gloves are 1g at castle vendors but 2g at village weapon. Every gold counts. If you're too lazy for that, the castle lux trader is the best for most things if you want to go to a single vendor. If you're willing to go to a couple, sell armor at armor trader and weapon at weapon trader and specials/quests at lux.

General suggestions:
Farm and sell. BUT do not spam shouts selling items. You will annoy ppl and make them less willing to buy from you. Travel between areas and target your shouts to the location, but wait several minutes between shouts. Also drop whatever you're doing to sell (i.e., die if you have to)--ppl will move on if you take too long. You can initiate trades to offer items, but do so selectively. Generally this works better with low lvls who might not know that they want what you have. Check to see what the toon already has. Do not offer a kite shield to someone with a tower shield; you're wasting everyone's time. And do not spam trades with higher lvls, even if you think they might want your item. Again, you will annoy them and get a bad rep.

Finally, have patience. You will get the money.

Pretty good summary , i have a couple minor changes to that.

Plat items, never purchase ahead of time , wait for a shouter , make a deal , then buy stack for cheaper per item price , sell the remaining items as more people shout or shout yourself with steady price. I think it's a good idea to determine ahead of time how much gold you require per plat.

Not that I'm running out of room to put money in lol, but I've actually Not even tried to farm and have made around 100K in the last 10 days (anywhere from 2 - 4 hrs per day, a little more on weekends). I didn't even realize it but after I bought a Diamond Bow for 50K last Friday, I Still have my Quartz bow, and already have 55K again. The only thing I actuall player sold was a moon mask for 15K so I made 40K somewhere lol - mostly from leveling on eyes.

In lieu of farming , I suggest leveling, leveling up is the best way to make gold.

Yea bro, it surprised me too! Red Eyes drop stuff that sells for 15g - 3000g (I've gotten 1 of these at least; even asked clan before selling to make sure it wasn't vendor trash!), on top of the gold they drop. And pages too (which I haven't even tried selling)! I've helped 2 clannies last night alone in completing their books from my page bank lol.

Boss runs. If you can find a good group to do some boss runs with that'll bring good gold as well. Aside from the drops which vary in prices you typically get 500 to 1k gold for each actual boss. Even killing their placeholders help. They typically drop gems which can range from 100g for jets up to 5-7k for diamonds ( sold to players that need for upgrades.) Leveling also helps alot not only for the gold and items which drop off them but the higher level you are the more likely you'll be accepted into boss groups. It kills me when I see a bunch of level 60s campin fal and begging to be in group even though they can't do any damage to the actual boss. If they spent half the time leveling instead of begging for groups they'd be a high enough level to actually join the group.

I only farm when I get bored of leveling. Farming for me is running around OW, SV, Shale and Lirs looking for bosses and placeholders. The leveling up pays for itself in the money you receive leveling and the increase in your characters power. So proud one day when I killed spearhorn gem, spike gem and bonehead gem in less then 30 mins all solo. Felt pretty good I couldn't have done that without the time spent leveling up.

I farm.
I've farmed so much my alt toon (warrior/sweeping blow)is built for constant killing, I know the best places and tactics.
Takes me about a week to farm 100k (couple hours per day).
