VOiP

Voice Over internet Phone

If they develop and implement it, has to go through Apple, and blah blah, but indeed hope it comes eventually :)

My clan uses TeamSpeak. I have a big server and I love it. You set it to Voice Activation not push to talk and yer set

I'd rather not see it implemented as an ingame feature honestly.

I do however fully support the ability to use 3rd party VOIP programs like Teamspeak, Ventrilo, or Mumble if people really would like to use them.

Point being, I've played online on Halo, Call of Duty, and Assassins Creed; they all have people randomly talking through the game and often verbally abusing each other.

As long as it's an optional 3rd party program, I'm all for it.

I kinda disagree. Plenty if good third party programs run behind the game, even Skype if you want just 2 ppl. The game should be about the game, adding voice chat to the server's load seems completely unnecessary and far below the developer's tod do list of better graphics, and pixel effects.

Also it's something that needs a mic and headset bc as any TS user in CH knows, you get feedback from hearing yourself on other device speakers. So you would hafta somehow configure the voice chat to read if someone had a plugin mic and if they didn't to mute them.

Less important, but certainly cause for concern:
I would imagine the game could be held partially liable if some pedophile was talking to young kids or teens or any person was being harassing (sexual or otherwise) beyond the pale. I know PSN and XBOXlive side step this with tons of legal parameters but seems like additional legal work would have to be done outside game work.

I just think the issue you are asking for is LOADED with different wrinkles that you aren't really taking into account.

Agreed. As an experienced call of duty player i see this all the time.
