I purchased a set of the new lux today.
Not only is it better than Garanak set, but (after adjusting my stats to suit the new gear) I haven't even come close to dieing a single time since I put on the set. Granted I was was on heroic regen for big fights, and used ~5 pots per boss.

I've already sold off all my Ancient idols and have switched over to the new idols.
Perhaps the OPness of the new lux is to combat the nerfs.

Is anybody else who has one of the lux sets finding that they are dieing a lot less?

Only few people can get lux set while everyone is affected by idols nerf :/

I would disagree it is better than garanak set. Garanak requires lvl 190 at that point the regen does little to nothing and you loose 300 stat points. Nonetheless it is very good, too good imo

For a lvl 150 yes but I haven't bought any plat and could afford a set of I really wanted to, but for me it'd be a waste of money so Im sticking with garanak set. You don't have to buy play to be able to get good stuff... It just helps a lot

Not true. I can farm up to 200-300k a day if I tried...and considering yule just started it would be easy to buy the lux before It ended

I agree that the new lux is great, but OTM should really stop raising prices without making it easier to get gold. For example, most mobs drop 30 gold avg, in order to reach 1 million, you have to kill 33,334 mobs...that is insane, and thats not even most expensive item in the shop by far. Most of the items are over 1m. Even 4-6k from bosses wont make much of a difference in that.

OTM has seriously got to make gold easier to get. I'm not sayin anything against buying plat, I've bought large amounts of plat before, but it is extremely hard to get large amounts of gold by simply farming/boss hunting...

Its easy Lol...just go to raid bosses, farm in sewers, check chief bosses in carrow, sv bosses and all those other mini bosses

im not sure why you say it is better than garanak. i am interested in hearing why.

i have blood thorn - which gives me 300 str, 300 dex, 200 poison damage. I am a ranger, do dex and dmg are my thing. garanak adds 354 dmg and 600 attack for me.

how much dmg and attack are you getting from a gemstar set? not that i can afford it all yet, but i am close...

I'm also a ranger. My stargem set gives me the following from the gear alone:
135 health and 75 energy regen.
120 Magic damage, 50 cold damage
200 Dex, 100 Vit
400 Attack, 500 health
300 Physical, spell, and wounding attack evasion

And it boosts my stats by this much:
1125 Health
600 attack
400 Defence
170 Damage

Changing to the lux set also freed up a charm slot, which allowed me to get a +160 strength charm.
From the amulet, bracelet, and ring from the lux set, and the 160 strength charm, I get a total 300 more damage.

So in all, it gives me 54 less damage, but IMO the regen, amulet skill, and 18 total skill points I get from the charm more than make up for it.
