Hey

Is elemental dmg not affected by armour? My ss still do same dmg when a warrior used shatter and i saw a mage still do same ice shard dmg...

Am i wrong or is this true? :p does armour only affect pierc/slash/crush dmg then?

Armor will not impact your elemental damage. Armor increases (or decreases, in this case) the resistance of Pierce/Slash/Crush. You need to have a mage cast Lures to decrease the elemental (Fire/Ice/Magic) resistance of a mob.

Seeing as you mentioned no change in SS, it's worth noting, there is no lure for poison damage; however, I would have expected to see some change when shatter was used, as your main/offhand should have Pierce/Slash/Crush.

Hope that helps.

Shadowstrike is poison damage. It isn't affected by armor, so has the potential to do full page damage regardless of shatter. Only mobs who have specific poison resists(tower mobs, event boss, aggragoth, necro a few) can resist poison type damage. Also applies to lifesteal and poison weapon, as both are poison type skills. Ways to increase damage from these are by adding skill points, dex, cunning or direct dmg gear.

Armor affects slash/crush/pierce as well as fire/ice/magic

Reason why the ice mage did same damage was probably coz his/her ice lure took down the mobs ice resistance to 0. Shatter after this will not reduce ice resists further (but reduce resists of every other type of damage). Hope this all made some sense to you.

Armor value does not affect elemental dmg taken. But armor can reduce elemental dmg taken. Or increase elemental dmg dealt. Hope this cleared it up
