"Horizontal Change"

Okay so, i have heard about all this Horizontal Change and XP Balancing but i have no idea what they mean by this. What is "Horizontal Change" and XP Balancing?

Horizontal content is basically things to do besides leveling farming or bossing, such as pvp, collecting chickens, etc

Horizontal Change would probably be referring to "Horizontal Content"

In MMOs there are two basic types of content: Vertical and Horizontal.

To put it simply Vertical would be your levelling of your character / gaining loot etc

Horizontal would be your non linear progression through other systems such as Pets, Class Based Attributes, Crafting, Fishing etc


XP Balancing is based on XP curve progressions in gaming.

Games usually have a hidden away graph that would show the average progression of a character and how much XP would be required for each level.

Usually the curve starts off small and gets higher as you progress.

Balancing that would be altering the key balancing of the game to make the curve less steep and easier to progress though.

Either more xp per mob or less xp required to lvl up.

Horizontal Content are features in the game where you can spend your money on besides lix and idols.

Except for the part where lixes and idols are necessary in every part of the game involving combat
