Lvl locking question

Just curious about lvl locking on how it works fully

From what ik:
The closer u are to the bosses lvl the least amount of dmg u need to do to lock the boss and if u much higher lvl then the boss more dmg needed to lock it.
So If u combine both high lvls (if no others available) with the ppl closer to lvl of the boss it would be much better then having those higher lvls out of group having empty spaces in group.

Example: five 180 rogues and three 220 Rogues would be better for lock then having just the five 180 rogues in group alone for lock with the 220s not in group

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

So my question is, is it be better to have those 220s out or in group with those 180s who at lvl lock of snorri. Would those 220s decrease the chances of lock for those 180s or would they help them better the odds in getting the lock?

And this can go with every boss in game just using snorri as a example cause curious if better or worse if higher lvls stay out or in for better chance at lock.

Out for lock as they would make the percentage needed to lock higher and then get in group once locked.

They can only help you, not hurt. See bitey's guide on it here: http://www.celticheroes.info/2015/08/ta ... e.html?m=1

Each character has its own amount of dmg needed to lock, That amount needed is used as a % from each toon alone and when you combine all 8 characters % and it equals 100% lock is attained.

So It's better to have the 220s in group with the 180s than to have blank spaces

Plus those 220 outside of group will just be helping to get it down faster, since there not in your group they won't be contributing to YOUR lock. It would just be like a third group there or them being solo trying to get lock.

The outside group doesn't attack til we lock. Same as at any lock battle

Even putting a single 220 in the group would cancel out the low level lock advantage.

100% wrong, even if you pull out an appropriate level toon for the high level.

Each toon has a %damage they lock at solo. At the 21st lvl above or below you need 0.5% for each level more than the base 15%. In a group you add up all the percentages and when it hits 100% you lock. Thus if you had a one million level toon in the group doing 1 dmg each auto it would be like that toon wasn't even there.

If you want to cheat the system, have all locking toons exactly 20 level above the boss (usually rogues are best). Have a 230 end game rogue cast poison weapon on all toons (for a grp of 8 you may want two rogues). You can also cast cloak of fire on anyone being attacked in the group. If you are short have an end game 230 dex ranger join and cast sharpen weapons and spikes.

The end game toons buffs in th group add to the lower levels lock huge compared to say over leveled people.
