What was even the point of...

When the otherworld expansion came out, what was the point of making the obliesk in the first place? O.o. I mean, its a defenceless and Offenceless rock. Is it how Obliesk is our proteus and aggy was our gele? O.o. (Except prot fights back ._.). Like, why. O.o

The rock was designed to give the best endgame DPS rings to make aggy a quicker kill, as a level 200+ it would be easy for you to run and kill the rock but at the time with damage so low and the adds that would run in from all places the rock took a lot of time and constant micro managing to kill.

Unfortunately OTM forgot or didn't care about how camo charms would make this boss easy and so people could solo the rock if they had a camo and hours of time (part of the reason why it was removed due to being excessively OP).

it was an original boss and imo its really cool to haveto face unusual bosses
OTM is on the good road creating bosses that need startegies (mord,gele,necro...) .
that s much better than when we had to face the green drag boss for earthplate armor lol, we could 1 grp kill him and it was taking about 3hours lol

it was an original boss and imo its really cool to haveto face unusual bosses

yea its what otm doesnt understand we want something to do like soloing difficult bosses, otm needs to create new bosses that we kill for fun because its a challenge . it can be done after otm does away with the windows and makes all bosses spawn faster

As I understood it, Otherworld in Update 3 was supposed to kickstart a new quest storyline about Crom and the invasion, the Tower and Blackstone Cabal, etc.
That's one reason why getting to Gelebron's Tower requires doing the key quest to kill OW bosses.

But I am guessing that there was a turnover of programmers at OTM so whoever was their developers back then were no longer there so when Update 4 came about, they abandoned Otherworld and created 3 totally separate, independent zones just to create new content that's pretty much "more of the same" - Level up and kill the boss at the end of the zone. Which amazingly was the same goal with Update 5 and Gelebron's Tower.

OTM needs to hire a good writer that can create interconnected storylines. It would be a fun read and also would be much more enjoyable knowing that what you did in Shalemont, Stonevale, and earlier zone is a continuation of why we are at Gelebron's Tower in the first place. It's not too late.

They are actually working towards this pretty quickly. The new Otherworld quest was the first real quest of this game, and just about the only peice of enjoyable content in the update. The story was in depth and tied in pretty well with the rest of the game. The quest was long and the tasks in it were not boring or too similar.
