Better? Well...
Icemages can have 7k health and do lots of damage, but a firemage can do tons of dmg with a good build. So
Better? Just depends on what you want.

Icemages - rule the arena, good for sigil regen, good for powerleveling low lvls, high health
Fire mages - better dmg, faster training.

if tbh, to get such high health as 7k u need to give up on a lot of focus / gear, which means if they'll still hit like 5k dmg it'll be bad for ice mages (ofc at high lvl such as 180 or so) that can hit 9k on mobs
fire is a build i would go if u dont have much rejuv or if u dont like taking a risk, ice build is risky but will be powerful if u can use it right

Both fire or ice can be good. It's really up to you

Actually, I totally disagree. The items at my level, DL wand, focus bracelets, focus ammy, blah blah blah. Actually give me a DEFAULT of over 900 Focus. this means I can spend all of my points in vitality and still have tons of focus. Icemages dmg don't rely on focus as much as firemages. So saying this. If your training or are in a clan, then go for firemages (bosses, and training). If your looking for useful sigil use, OP in the arena, and want high health with a steady build, I would go for an icemage. A mage with 7k health is alot more consistent in anything than a fire mage, but a firemage does almost twice the damage.

firemage should not do twice as much dmg if u got high enough dps as an ice mage, focus affects ice skills like it does for fire, im not saying u will outdps fire mages (not so easily at least) but if u have half of firemage's dps thats not the best thing, the 7k health is good but mages are mostly better with nuking dmg imo at least, im pretty sure that they'll die quickly with or without the health, but very powerful for pvp

Yeah, until you die in one hit and lose your attunement. Why not level your mage until you start killing dragonlord bosses, then compare their dps and how important health is?

I completely agree with deanksk.

Why not respect someone's opinion ? :)
i prefer mage as dps mage, if u want high health, go with that, if u want higher dps, go with that, with 2464 health on melee range i dont die that fast from bosses (including snorri), so i believe that a mage with less armour true, but most likely higher health than mine, can try standing at a bit further place to avoid those, unless u go to melee range then its ur problem (ofc its not easy to avoid any aoe, but either way they'll kill ur mage, unless u got a tank to keep it far enough or bolas+roots so u wont get one hit)

Armo, i dont care if ur a lvl 184 mage, just shut up, really i wouldnt care even if my mage was lvl 1 and u would be lvl 200, i say what i prefer, what i prefer isnt always whats good for u, it can be whats good for me, or whats good in my opinion, do u know whats an opinion armo? i suggest checking it, dont bother quoting and commenting, there are many other high lvls to argue with them on forums and with u at least i dont really like arguing.

Oh and, according to massadu73 , or some other mages that u have never bothered to check, low health seems to work :)
