Celtic Heroes

It was the closest game I could find to my favorite (but dieing) MMORPG, Final Fantasy 11 online.

I, like alot of people who have responded to your post, play CH simply because its a decent MMORPG. It's online, and its portable for my iPod. I have played MMORPGs for a really long time, and browse the role playing category on the app store frequently. Not just on the iPod/Phone/Pad, of course, but computer too - WoW, GW etc.

Seems like thats a frequent answer. By why Celtic Heroes over a game like, say, Order & Chaos?

Simple that's because it was free!

Hi Everyone.

I'm very new to the game, just really starting to get my feet wet and learning the controls.

What I have seen from CH through my short play and video's I have been watching. It reminded me a little of my years in Everquest.
I played EQ from 1999 to 2006, gave Vanguard a shot, but it never caught had me the way EQ did. So after a long break I started to get MMO itch again and with the annoucment of Everquest going Free to Play, I had to check on my toons. I logged in and was Totally Lost!!! I didnt have any idea where to start or what to do. I ran around in some familiar places and logged out... I didnt have the time with a family now to sit in front of the computer for hours on end.

I started to search on the Ipad, curious if there were any good MMORPG, no clue really. I found Pocket Legends, but after reading a little I wasnt sure it was my interest.

In everquest, I was a well experienced raid Cleric. Pretty well equiped for the time. I was a little sad to see that there wasnt a Cleric in this game. The healer with heavy armour was always my first choice. I have started a warrior right now and a druid. Lets see who i enjoy playing the most.

Has there ever been any talk of adding new classes? ie Cleric or Paladin?

To me Celtic Heroes, seems like a good game that I can quest and lvl up from the sofa and if I need to put the game down immediately, I wont be too worried on where I left my corpse.

I seriously do agree with this, O&C has a subscription as well as the £3.99 cost, and that drew me away from it. soon enough i found CH, it looked great and was free, so i thought, what the heck. soon enough i was hooked!

Beowulf, Celtic heroes and Minions of Mirth are rooted in what was developed by the original Everquest. That is kind of their common ancestor. Everquest also was rooted in Ultima, and the list goes on. However just because you know roughly what you want to do, that in no means makes it any less challenging to make a great game. If you wanted to make a racing game you could study ridge racer, cruisin usa, need for speed, gran turismo ect. and you would take some aspects and leave others and create new aspects in your journey to make a racing game, and it still would be extremly tough to make it comparable or better than those others listed. I think its simple, Celtic Heroes is a great game. A very very good game. That is not easy to do, but One Thumb does it. That is how they roll lol.

And I think Celtic Heroes will be a new gold standard by which everyhing else is measured by in portable MMO's similar to how Everquest was a gold standard. At this point I think CH has even more potential than Everquest because of the ideals of the people at OT including free-ness, collaboration with users (not just testers), and simplicity.

I may be just about as excited by these forums as I am with the game heh. Cool stuff is happening.
