Actually there is a way.
You will have to choose between a build that can take on a Mage or another to defeat a rogue.
If you can figure that out, then you would know that ranger are under powered

It helps if you have entangle and you turn auto off when they use riposte

Their killers are skill hits not normal attacks.

Entangle slows physical skill cast times so if u cast entangle sneaky or shadow strike will take longer to cast while instant cast like quick wont have any affect. Basically any skill that takes into accout the weapon speed will be affected by entangle.
