Barbed Shot is mildly better than it used to be, but the overall change was rather minor.
There was a small damage increase (I think 10-15%, but can't confirm due to a lack of final patch notes for the live update), and the damage was changed to hit for less damage, but faster. For example - if before the update your skill did 500/tick (5 seconds) then after the change, it would have done around 100 damage per second.
A lot of people aren't really impressed with the changes, from what I've seen most players seem to think it didn't really change much, and it still kinda sucks as a skill.
