Best Training Places

#1
So I've looked at the training guide on which areas are good for leveling at certain levels and that one is dated, back before OTM murdered the good old Stonevale. I'm lv 62 and having a bit of trouble finding a good place to train. I asked my clanmates and they said to do the Southern Dales path and pit there but IDK if it's just my luck or if it is really a hard area, but that place is God awful. Between only getting 3-4 stars and loredancer fairies, I can't do anything but die. I'm a hybrid ranger with a 10/10 ammy and Greythorn gauntlets. My skills are doubleshot, rapid, sharpen, longshot, and light heal, also starting to level camo so when I do get high enough to train in pits I dont get ganked by 4 of them. My question is what is the best place to train until I can get into OW? Thanks.

I always preferred fingals cave for the lower levels, because the mobs only auto attack there. Try to kill pirates. To be honest level 60-70 really sucks. Not really good leveling places, it's one of those level gaps that will be a terrible grind.

I also think you should have bolas in your build. Especially when your low on regens this skill will be very usefull. I don't know if you have energy problems, but if you do drop longshot. This skill is a huge energy eater. I am not really an expert if it comes down to rangers but you can pm me if you have any questions.

Cheers Mizza

Thanks, I went through the guide and it's ok as a general overview. Also, what are the best skills you think I should be using at this level (I'm currently lv 66 now), my core skills I feel are rapid and light heal along with sharpen weapons most of the time. Also use double shot as an opener and follow with rapid. I use longshot and ever since I started using it I do find my energy dropping more rapidly than before so I guess that might be it but isn't bolas also a huge energy drainer?

To be honest rangers suck till they hit 170, that's when they get the full dragon lord armour set. That's mainly because of the added heat damage to their attacks I think.

Problem with the lower levels is that your auto attack is fairly weak, so you have to resort to using skills which are also weak( rangers is a broken class). Using skills means a high energy useage.

The advantage I think you would have with bolas is that the mob won't reach you, so you don't have to use light heal and that should save energy

As far as I know the gains from sharpen weapons and steady aim are very marginal till level 100+ ish. You might want to use sharp shot instead(really bad skill though).

As for longshot, this might be your best dps skill, maybe try to put as much points in it so you can pinpoint mobs up to 10 levels higher then you( so up to lvl 70-75 ish)
And try get a lvl 50 quiver. The added damage to your auto attack and the regens are really helpfull.

What pagga said, 60-70 is a bad grind due to the lack of mobs inbetween those levels. I would suggest you head to the pirates, the sv farm has mobs around your level so try there too. The imp mages in stonevale are OP stay away from them.

Drop doubleshot and sharpen weapons. Use sharp, light heal, barbed. Longshot does good damage but it has a huge energy cost and distance requirement, when you are healing the ticks really make up for it. Use rapid but dont put points in it

Your build - You want to be able to kill at least 3 mobs your level before having to stop to regen. Id recommend at least 50 focus and going full dex at this level, after putting enough points in vit till you have 800ish hp. So your stats will look something like this : str:5 dex:140 focus:50 vit:120. You can put points in str if youre survivability is good but i wouldnt go over 50 till lvl 80-90

With the high defence/maxed heal from the dex build you wont need bolas for training as you will be tanking mobs pretty comfortably but at 80+ you may want to pick it up and start soloing boss phs for gold. So you can start puting spare points into it right now if you want or just use an alt book if you have one saved.
