See what I was thinking was when you change your name you would have your clan, your new name underneath, and your previous name under that as a smaller size, in brackets, and gray(talking about your name above your character's head). It would stay like this for a month and once the month is up the old name would disappear leaving you with just the new name and your clan. You should also get 1-3 months to change back, if you decide not to in time then your old name goes on the market for any other name changer/new player.

Maybe there could also be like a small record holding the last 3 names of every character when you inspect them?

The second part of your original post? Nope, I don't see it there. I didn't read many of the posts on this thread, I'm just adding in a way that I think would work, just as many others do.

I was thinking about that once, but thought, wut if a scammer would just not play for the time needed for there previous name to go away? So if a month is needed for the name to go away, the person would just not use that acc for one whole month.
I like this idea a lot and believe, instead of putting a general time, they need to play for a certain amount of time before the second name, in brackets, goes away.

Or for 2nd rename 1k plat is more fair. Name renames r serious events. All we need is once so we can have two names. Although can we have three words or more as long as it doesn't go past letter max?

Please just make a limit of name changes. Nobody wants to be confused with this crap.

I don't want to change my name constantly in the real world even though I can for the sake of being original. I see it now already, all these names constantly changing like "DragonBlaze", "Shadow" you are supposed to think of a name when you start playing in the first place, be grateful they are even giving you a second chance.

What about the mayhem when they first implement it? (Assuming they give everyone a free one). Complete confusion. Same as server transfers, it's like musical chairs.
