Bringing back the old bosses was only a mistake if that was the end of things and that's all they wanted to do for "new" content.

But it's not. Bringing back old bosses and lux allows all that hard work to shine and be available to a wider audience.

They should then release permenant gear to patch up the supply of gear that gives players an unfair advantage in bossing. There was never an expectation that would be the best lux ever released. In fact all mmos have gear inflation where gradually over time the power of drops increases so only the latest stuff is the best. CH is very odd that random shop buys and drops from years ago are superior.
I would've been okay bringing the old bosses back if there was some sense and logic to it. But OTM simply scattered them around the world with no rhyme nor reason. Plus it's overkill releasing all 5* and 6* versions just to create "permanent content" because the Fishing Update literally has none that will capture players attention longer than a month.

The Winter King in Mordris Cave? Yule Monoliths in Murky Vaults? wth is that. There should've been somewhat of a realistic/logical zone-boss relationship. Dragons likes caves, Undead like sewers, etc.

What we have now is simply a chaotic plethora of bosses to kill because OTM writers couldn't be bothered writing a cohesive storyline on what their MMO is really about.

If people made gold the "old-fashioned way" by farming then you still wouldn't be able to afford any Event Lux because
So it's my fault that farming 1.5m for an ammy takes a rediculous amount of time? If I decided to farm 1.5m, the event would have been already over by the time I got 1.5m and the prices would have gone up another million or so. Is that my fault as well?
If Event Lux came back then you'd still apparently take more than 4 Months to get 1.5m at which point it would be gone anyway so there isn't any difference. You may as well save the bloody 5m and get a Reaper now before the price gets even higher.

And there's no "right" way to make gold. If a player wants to sell Chests in order to make his millions then so what? Does it make someone better if they farm all their gold? No, what matters in the end is if you get the item or not, and there's a reason merchants usually get good stuff.
Ummm, I'm talking about past event lux coming back permanently. There's no way I would farm 5m just to get an ammy even though I already have this events heat dmg ammy. Now if it were 1.5m I would definitely take the time to farm for that ammy. There is a right or wrong way on making gold depending on the way you view it. Merchants tend to annoy me because they are constantly ripping people off to make profit which to me is wrong, it's like being sold a house more than what it's actually worth and then you realize that you made a mistake but it's already to late.
You're blaming the wrong person. It's not the merchants fault things are a certain cost, it's the players. A merchant can only get what players are willing to pay.

I recently got into a bidding war with someone over a green Christmas hat. I ended up paying over 2 mil in gold and chests. Would I ever think a Christmas hat was worth 2 mil? No. But I wanted it and someone else was willing to pay close to that so I had to jump up or lose it.

Why is black hunter worth millions on some servers? Why is a reaper rings worth millions? Why is a white party hat worth millions? Because players are willing to pay it.

Do you realize the difference between the wyld ammy you want and the current event vit ammy is 100 stat points? Do you really think 100 stat points really makes or breaks anything?

Well i guess I have to agree with you there. The idea of having them appear in many places is good but they dropped the ball in making it more cohesive.

Also the fishing is good in concept but most players won't last a month on it due to being low level stuff. I'm giving it a week.

I don't see the issue with the random spawn locations. Having to go search for those couple legacy bosses each day might be a good thing. Who cares about logic lol

I think bringing back the legacy bosses was already a mistake. Bringing back old lux is also a mistake.
Players should be looking forward, not look back. Otherwise the game has no progression at all.
How is it a mistake? Legacy bosses coming back and being permanent is a huge step forward from seasonal content if you were to ask me. And who cares if they are coming back, it just means that there will be more gear to go around and more bosses to kill. Who knows, maybe you all will enjoy having old lux back in the shop. Legacy bosses gives people more to do and old event lux coming back gives people more to buy. Those merchants out there that disagree with legacy bosses or old event lux coming back need to learn a lesson, being a merchant isn't and shouldn't be a quick way of earning gold. Get it legit through bossing and farming, not sitting in the castle all day showing off all of your stuff while ripping people off trying to make a profit
Your statement about merchants is inaccurate. If you read my post you would see that i am for bringing back lux. Also if it were not for plat merchants getting gold you might not have this game to play. Otm is not going to make money if everyone just farms in game for everything they own. Furthermore we usually do not just sit in the castle showing off. Usually we have high level alts that we supply trough our Merc. Please read, comprehend, and understand what you are posting.

Thanks

I actually don't care either. It is a game with dragons, trolls, and living robots...not really supposed to make a lot of sense
Guess many players who just want to play and wander aimlessly, don't care. But typically MMOs have a theme and an overall story line, even if it's open ended. That's why WoW and Everquest were engaging, and RPGs like Dragon Age with rich storylines are captivating and fun to play. CH is now simply a mish-mash of bosses to kill, no quests that say anything about "Why are you here?" "What are you doing?" "How do you become a Celtic Hero?" It had a story once. Shalemont had a good storyline that ended abruptly. Stonevale did also. The Otherworld and the story about Crom and his minions, and the Gelebron's Tower tie-in was supposed to kick start the story again. But it just seems there is no direction and OTM has no idea what they're actually trying to deliver, except ways to milk money off its players.

Well and that's part of it. There wasn't a story line once you hit carrow. There's a partial kind of story line with the towers. But CH to me and many others that I game with has become a "mord spawned, necro spawned, proteus is up, unox is up too gogo" and repeat over and over again.

I love dragons age because of the story line. And CH could be that way. And it prob won't ever be. So I have just accepted that CH is basically a game of kill the same bosses over and over again for their drops...no story needed I suppose

Maybe we can become Fishing Heroes in later updates, where we get to live the dream of catching Lirs' Marlin or something equally stupid.

If Celtic Heroes had a story that began at Level 1 and lasted all the way until Gelebron then I think the issues of Event Lux and bringing back old things would diminish greatly. If there was an engaging, cohesive story there would be no intense want of Lux other than for bossing. And from what I can see alot of the players who want to bring old Lux back are the ones who haven't reach EG Bossing yet, or as Zyz described, logging in for boss calls.

If there was a story (and better pacing/levelling) then Players wouldn't want to rush to EG so fast. Ofc there's a deeper problem with that in the form of Shop Items being better than Loot. Dragon Age was great because if you killed a Dragon and get its scale you just got yourself the most badass armour in the game. This was also done with weapons.

Celtic does this starting with EGB, but the fact that players would rather have Event Lux brought back (or added) instead of wanting the drops from Bosses shows the huge flaw at CH's core.

Better Loot = Less Need/Want for Event Lux = Happy Players

Because then you EARN your gear instead of paying up the ass for it.

And I fear we've started to stray off topic, may be time to begin a new thread or drop it altogether? Though we are pointing out some glaring flaws in our beloved game.
Would you kindly?
