Re: @OTM, question about future classes/skills/weapons

Warriors being meant to tank means you have no vision and want to force people into certain classes or roles with no variation.

How many tanks does one clan/server need? Not too many. So that forces people to either play a class that they don't necessarily care for, or play a roll that they don't care for.

Not sure why some people are so afraid of actually having more options. When you go to a restaurant do you want to see a menu with 5 things to eat, or rather a menu with 20 options? Most of the time in life, people prefer choices and options. Not only 5 choices.

Tell warriors with no true quest dps offhand that their weapon is fine.
All classes have different roles. Warriors are meant to tank.
Unless I'm missing something, no where does thr game state on its description in thr app store or when creating toons does it state that warriors are meant solely as tanks. In fact when you're creating a warrior, it says in the class description that you "charge into battle with a sword, axe, or hammer." That would indicate the game intended for warriors to have a dps role and not just tank.

Warriors aren't meant to tank, end game DPS warriors are actually pretty decent, give them full doch and they become destroyers.

A clan at most needs six very active tanks.

There are Classes which give players a broad picture of what they can do/be and also sets boundaries for each class (i.e. No sword-wielding Rangers).

Aside from that you get to decide whether to be DPS, Support or a mix of both.

Having a unique character is what makes RPG's so much fun. Fashion and equipment adds the visual uniqueness, and having deeper customisation and variation between players is always going to be a good decision.

You guys are forgetting about balance, increase warriors dps and then nobody would want to play rogues, I think all classes need improving, give druids a taunt, increase their damage, give dps classes more support utility, warriors should be able to dps effectively but wouldn’t that just make it better than all classes, at raids all we would have are 20 warriors. I think the advantage of dps warriors in comparison to rogues is tankyness, they die less so can dish out decent damage whilst the rogues are dead

Doch gul armor has been introduced which has got rid of the survivability for these warriors. Adding a warrior dps offhand would balance it out but I agree it should substitute he survivability.

Rereading through the topic I do see some things that are a bit.. Wrong.

Warriors, throughout all RPG's ARE meant to be tanky decent damage dealers. You can't say "they're not meant to be tanks" because.. they are, at least in the "Traditional" style of RPG's. The other frequently used classes are..

The Rogue/Scoundrel class is always about quick strikes and high damage with lower health.

Druids/Healers for support.

Mages/Wizards are glass cannons.

Archers/Rangers also quick, high damage with low health, but more "agile" than Rogues.

If you make Celtic Heroes' Classes broader it also begins to blur those lines between the classes. A Druid will still be used for heals, yes, but it can also ruin his role if you give him tons of DPS skills. A Mage can have a sword, like a Battlemage in Dragon Age, but he is still weaker than your typical Warrior, and his damage isn't close to that of a Rogue. So yea, you can have fun playing with the skills you want, but your skills may be at a disadvantage when compared to playing the "traditional way".

If we really wanted variety we would do away with Classes altogether (or have very broad classes) and just give players equipment that adds what they want to a certain stat or skill, like Skyrim's skill tree. But ofc that means we'd need a SKILL TREEEEE (hoping)

So yea, it's cool if we get some variety injected into the classes, but it may be a bit useless. We may get more "choices" for what our build or skills may be, but we'd be playing at a disadvantage because we're trying to emulate another class, or push our class to a point where they aren't meant to be.

Tbh Skill Tree similar to Skyrim is how we get the most variety to the game AND get to play exactly the way we want.
Would you kindly?
