Re: Class consequences because of balance issues?

What about Rangers :3

Like Swan has pointed out before, there needs to be more of an advantage for the ranged classes. Currently there is no advantage, the skills do not have added dmg accrding to range, mobs run like cray etc. And then again Rogues have the ranged advantage with shadowstrike even though their primary ability is meant to be a close-range melee class.

Casters: Reduce energy costs and evasions, buff ice skills again. Give druids and Mages more armour. They can't do too much damage because of energy problems but they still get hit really hard. Make focus multiply wand/staff damage and let them auto.

Rangers: Don't make them a class mixture, give them a real role and not just a mixture of several classes. Atm the only reason for them to play is for bosses with AoE. Otherwise, Druids beat them through heal and buffs, Mages cast more dmg skills, Warriors can tank and solo more due to insane hp and armor (even with bolas, it works but is much slower than a warrior solo), and then Rogues just outright beat them in every aspect everywhere. With debuff skills, buffs, insane dps and mid-class armour.

I can assure you the only reason any players with rangers as their mains never expected the class to be this way, 90% of the rangers picked the class because it uses a bow. We're given a bow and we are said to be an agile quick class, but that's not the case with our broken skills.

When I talk about buffing classes I always get this arguement: "Oh so you want to heal, bolas, deal extreme dps, tank, and use buff skills?" No. It is not like we can be using every skill we have maxed out at the same time. Just like every other class we have to choose from a skill pool of about 14 skills, but we can only use about 5, not 14.

The game just needs to make added damage/heals/buffs according to the classes preferred stats and combat type.

PvP is kinda a joke in this game at the moment so I will only comment on PvE.

There is something here I do not understand. Why does it matter if some classes are harder to play than others? You can choose whichever class you want to play instead of trying to argue that this or that class need nerfs or boosts.

In my mind the real issue is balance within a class. All skills should have a purpose or be removed. It should be possible to make many different skill combinations for the same class and be successful. Right now it seems at higher level that almost all toons from same class is played the same way - true mages can choose fire/ice/support, druids full support or hybrid, warrior tank or dps - BUT with the choosen role they pretty much all use the same set of skills.

Because you need real life money to level (lix and sigils).
Actually I got 4 high level toons, lowest being lvl 180 and have spent less than 10 USD back in update 2 so you do not need real life money. Lix and sigils can be bought with gold.

Why are people saying shadowstrike is a ranged attack? It puts you directly in front of the mob, there's no range about it.
Because shadowstrike covers range (teleports the rogue to the target), it should be considered a ranged attack, and a very quick one as well.

A ranger draws his/her bow and fires an arrow from a distance. When the arrow hits the target after (time to draw bow) + (time for arrow to travel), it deals damage. That makes shooting the arrow a ranged attack.

A rogue just is the arrow. When the rogue reaches the target (instantly) after casting shadowstrike, it deals poison damage. That makes shadowstrike an insanely fast ranged attack.

Imagine a ranger that could nock and fire a poison damage arrow in 0 seconds, and that the arrow moved so fast that its travel time was also 0 seconds. Such a skill would be effectively the same thing as a shadowstrike.
