I dont believe in torture of the body or mind i think it is a terrible way to treat anyone still if someone wont tell information usually its the only way BUT torturing someone for revenge isnt the way justice should be dispensed if there is consclusive evidence that you killed someone you should get a long jail sentence if you are a serial killer death, if you are a rapist gelded etc

If we want to so exactly what they did, it means, or could mean, that we aren't really better than them.
By not killing them, we show that, whatever they did, we can do better. If we only do to them what they did to us, it is because we are only following feelings, but it isn't about fairness.

@Criminal Honestly once you reach a certain point of evil I believe you've lost your "humanity" and should be exterminated. I don't get the sympathy for cold blooded killers, rapists and phsycopaths.

You are no better than the criminal if you decide to kill him/her. "Killing" someone is doing the exact same thing you are condoning and fighting against so it is beyond me why you are a proponent of a solution that is contradictory with your beliefs.

Killing people as a form of punishment has no place in society. You punish them by removing them from society so they can do no further harm, but you do not take away a precious life you have no right over. Their judgment will come after death don't worry, but in the meantime, your vindictive mentality needs to be re-evaluated.

I have designed sentence that fist killers:
Put em in prison , torturate em make em feel the pain they inflicted in The victim familly, and a long long long death to frighten The other killerrs .

His post is written in a childish format but I completely agree. Death is too easy of a way out for some sickos. That guy who shot up the elementary in Connecticut a while back killed himself. Couple weeks ago this guy capped 2 cops and committed suicide. I only wish they were caught and tortured.

exactly not many sane people will torture someone unless they absolutly have to to save lives etc like torturing terrorists for theyre organsization to save lives

so basically you want to hire psycopaths to torture other psycopaths it really dosent make sense

The belief that death is the easy way out is the reason all these aholes feel safe enough to commit crimes, that's what bothers me. People nowdays commit whatever crime their heart desires and because of your belief and because you spread the belief that death is the easy way out, now the criminals believe it too. So stop believing death is the easy way out.

I believe that death begets death and that's the way the world was always supposed to be, forgive me if you disagree but the death penalty is much better than putting someone in a nice cozy room with my tax money-- after they just finished raping/killing someone's entire family and made the children watch... Condemnation isn't my thing-- but there are monsters that go bump in the night in this world, they don't have tails, or razor sharp teeth...., they don't crawl from the crypts, slither in the waters... They're people, the greatest and the worst in coexistence,

But in cases like these...
The reaction can in no way shape or form be equal and opposite, it is in these cases where the debts of the crimes can't be learned from or repayed, then yes--

I support the death penalty.

Firstly if someone is going to argue about this, please don't bring religion into this. Saying: "they will be judged after death, so don't worry" is completely useless since you're pretty much ignoring any possible atheists that are reading the thread.

If the death penalty did exist, or didn't exist, it wouldn't really impact me either way. What I really don't like is the 25 year typical sentence for murder (for Australia anyway). I mean really? 25? I'd be much happier if it were doubled to 50, so they can literally spend the majority of their lives left behind bars, because I sure don't want them around in the general public.

Also I don't see how executing someone makes you as bad as them murdering the person originally... Really terrible argument. They are obviously aware of the punishment they will receive for their acts, so if capital punishment did exist then it's all their damn fault. Of course if they're mentally unstable there are measure to take care of that, but that's a whole different sub-topic.

Insult you twice? I am rebutting your arguments because you are blatantly assuming we are all religious.

You insist on proving that the executioner is just as bad as the murderer. Rethink those arguments before typing it all again once someone opposes you because they just don't make sense.

Murdering - criminal act against the law

Execution - punishment for breaking the law


It's like saying a police officer who fines you for speeding is just as bad as you, because they had to speed to catch up to you.. Exactly, it boggles my mind how you could even relate the two situations.
