Re: Over The Line Into Sickville....
#33Cys, Even if post is locked, something positive has come of this:
The player who said such dreadful things has been identified. Even before rock solid proof appeared in the form of Aileron's screen shots, Toastie made an apology and also made it clear he would not tolerate a player in his clan speaking to another clan with that level of total hate. Aeslyn said the same. Mage Kate thought it had only been said in their own clan chat, but she apologised when Aileron put up proof that it was said for all to hear in Arena. FacingHell also had the courage and great decency to then retract his former comments, and to apologise for the behaviour of that player. Those four players didn't say those disgusting words, but all of them are doing their best to show that their clan doesn't find it acceptable that one of their members behaved like that. They have not given mean, curt apologies, but fulsome ones. Aileron for his part has said he hasn't gone to Support with this and his clan haven't reacted by going around ksing and tormenting Triq players. It has been dealt with and in the way it should be, by players in game. None have over reacted, Avalon isn't seeking any revenge and Triq leaders have made it very clear they are not trying to cover this up or make excuses for it. The way leaders of both clans and their members have reacted shows great integrity.
Mage Kate made the point about some in game dealing with this illness in the real world. I know of two youngsters in game whose mothers are being treated for breast cancer (one of these players is 13 and the other 14). Certainly if the player who made those terrible comments to Avalon had said them to me, I wouldn't have been able to show the restraint Aileron did. For me personally I am simply pleased the player responsible for causing such hurt will know by now that what ever clan any of us are in, the majority of us will unite and NEVER tolerate behaviour like that.
I am also glad that FacingHell no longer thinks this post was some kind of devised plot, ('planned' between myself and Aileron). If you look at other recent topic posts/replies between myself and Aileron Facing, you will see I am not exactly in Aileron's 'Flavour Of The Month' book. He and I have disagreed quite strongly about a few things. If I disagree with someone, even vehemently, it doesn't mean I am going to allow myself to become blinded by 'hate' and that I become so mean minded that I won't support them on issues I think matter, or agree with other things they say. Sometimes I don't think many people get me at all on this game. That is probably my fault, my inadequate way of expression. What ever, while I am not some 'buddy' of Aileron's there are many aspects of his game play and conduct which I would be a moron if I could not both acknowledge and respect. That goes for other players I have argued with on game.
