Lets just do this in Invadeds mathematical class way...

Ice- Its cold lowers your body temperature and with enough will freeze you instantly
Fire- Burns and will eventually incinerate you.
Ice 0 Fire 1

Damage
Ice- Alot higher compared to fire no arguement
Fire- Hi I hit 600 maxed out
Ice 1 Fire 1

Speed
Ice- 2 skills- slow recharge- hi im just going to dodge both skills and destroy your energy shield.
Fire- 2 skills - faster charges- haha you dodged my skills idc heres another.
Ice 1 Fire 2

Pvp
Ice- hey every class except warrior im going to one hit KO you.
Fire- hold on i only took out half of your health.. "Rogue" shadowstrike quick double attack you are dead.
Ice 2 Fire 2

I could go on all day.
In my opinion Fire gets the hits rolling ice does some serious power. Its all about how you like to be. I am personally an ice mage because i get the thrill of seeing my opponent lay dead after one hit. Fire mages to me are good but its not what I am:) as always choose what you like not what someone tells you to do. Unless they have free rings :3

Idk about hitting 600 maxed out.... My level 72 mage's firebolt hits 800 on blood groves.
