I dont see a problem with doing that...
Lots of people have terrible names or names with tons of numbers in them because they created the acc when they were a nub. Personally, i like my name, but I have many friends who hate there name and really badly want to change it.
And its a mmo, not really dificult to learn a name

Thing is you could learn the wrong persons name and think he is someone else and what not. Even with name history, people get scammed because not checking lvl/clan, what would make them look at name history?

Sure your friends have crappy names they don't like, and I'm sure they have names in mind already they would want. Why would they need even more than one name change?

After a while that person might not want to have the name the used to think was cool and what not. **** happens i guess and this is a mmo where simple stuff such as the ability to change ur name is a must.
I have played many mmo's and i have always been able to change my name however i desired.
And if you have a close friend that you would really trust with your items, would they really not tell u that they changed there name? Hard to get scammed that way.

This game is so tightly knit and un-soloable that name changes arent normal like other mmos. I'm sure you know pretty much everyone on your on server. Having that being taken away with name changes would ruin that.

As said before it does more harm than good.
