What should be noted is the fact that in 2 and 1/2 days this topic has generated 700 views and had tons of fired of up responses either for or against it. These numbers attest to how relevant this topic is.

I wish those that have been so adamantly opposing a penalty would suggest alternatives to this issue rather then just continue repeating that the game is fine the way it is.
Not fair, I have suggested alternatives and have not gotten a single response for or against.

Create rewards for living I stead of penaltys for dying.
Brilliant! because its hard not to die, so maybe like the opposite of what admin was saying, like weak buff instead of weak debuff, every 10 min or so that you're alive, it becomes stronger, and maybe reaches a limit after an hour or two.

Well instead of a stick how about a carrot?

Don't create a death penalty but instead create a life bonus. For every kill your level you get a +1% bonus to xp and gold and ability training. IF you can stay alive for 100 kills your level then you get +100% on everything. No credit for things lower level than you. Death means a restart.

The down side is that PVP will be empty if it resets your kill count.
The idea has merit but it's not fair to all classes. Rogues die a lot on Quake bosses, tanks die a lot if you don't have enough healers. Others can just logout when they get aggro.
You are just thinking of normal xp grinding, and I don't think it's such a special achievement not to die from normal mobs. If you die more than once every 2 minutes on normal mobs, then you are fighting way over your head. Admin's idea is easier to implement also.

The arguement was a retaliation for what was braught up against me. Read my whole post to see what it was. And calm down, I'm not focusing on that specific penalty (which you can see by my post). Did you just say that for the hell of it or are you going somewhere withe that?
This is what you said in your post which Elim responded to:

Xp penalty? I absolutely hate that idea and will leave the game as many people will too

Then you retaliated again with:

Are you saying you would continue playing if you lost xp everytime you died?

Xp loss is the first thing that turns me away from a game.

Im specifically speaking of xp loss on death.

I would automatically leave once I lost xp on my first death.


Even after admin suggested the debuff penalty you keep bringing up XP penalty which isn't even on the table.
So basically, you didn't read the whole post :roll:

And yeah, i said "anyway" as in i did not intend to bring it bavk up again but it makes sence to. Did you read that?

They already said they won't do an XP penalty. So I don't really understand what you are complaining about. Done with talking to you about this, as it is clear you are going to continue complaining about something that's not even coming.

If it's not coming, then I don't see why what i said was a big deal since it was not the main focus of my post anyway. Whatever though.

so... just about every other mmorpg out there has death penalty, and when ch decides they might implement one everyone rages... makes me question whether anyone actually knows what they are talking about
So true... "you mean you're going to make it that I can't kill bosses by using 25 idols because I have 700 focus and 50 vitality? Well if you do that then I'll quit"

Kinda stupid to he honest....

Snce all of you are comparing to other MMO's, other MMO's that actually do have death penalty dont have completly unbalanced classes.

You want a death penalty? Fix the classes first...
I will occasionly browse the forums, but for the most part im done.
