Too much lure?

#1
I have talked to many different players about this topic and gotten a bunch of different answers, but it's all guessing and no one seems to know for certain weather or not leveling lures past a certain point is useless or not. The general consensus is 20 pts for lvling and 30+ for bosses. Say your mob has a pierce resistance of 160 and you have assassins lure at 320, is the remaining 160 discarded and leave the mob at 0 resistance, or can it go negative 160 and make them even "weaker" there by increasing the damage beyond what the skill/spell "should" do (or at least a constant max hit)?

Perhaps a mob analyze or inspect skill could be created, weather class based or universal. Maybe even a passive ability that gives you more info about the mob as you level the ability.

I havent done nearly enough testing to know this for sure, but i believe resistances stop at 0 (meaning they cant go negative). I keep my lure much lower then most for lvling, simply because i think attune is more effective (cant be evaded, dont need to have crappy dps while u wait for cd if you/group pulls multiple mobs, ect) many people may disagree.

As for an ability i think you should get info in tiers, getting the first amount of info available when 5 lvls below the mob, then at mob lvl, then 5 lvls above (for bosses).
For example: you are lvl 144 and killing 150 wyverns. At this lvl you can't see any info on the mob. You lvl to 145 and now you can see their hp, energy, and resists. You lvl to 150 and you can now see everything you would if you were looking at your own abilities/gear/ect. If this were to be done, something would need to be done to make bosses more challenging (not stronger, challenging) because this would make it extremely easy to prepare easily.
Enjoy the little things in life...
One day you'll look back and realize they were the big things.

I use both attune and lure most of the time, some may say it's overkill, but it really helps in case you die right after casting attune (it's happened to me many times) if that happens and you don't have lure, you're still stuck with crappy damage until attune is ready to cast again.

Way too many places to put points and not enough to spend, I think druids and mages should get 2 skill pts per lvl (or at least an extra point every other level). Wards and Lures alone chew up a lot of our points, theoretically it would take 294 skill points to max all lures/wards to lvl 50 (without gear buffs).

ik someone who tested it with both fire and ice lure with his mages

he took a lvl 1 with no elemental resists, and started testing
first, no lure, checked dmg many times
then, lure on lvl 1, the dmg increased
lure on lvl 2, increased by a bit

in the end, i think he maxed it, and checked again, and the dmg increased by much more

so maybe we cant see on our resists negative amount of resist, but if -armour works, -defence works, -attack works, then -resist prob works as well
since hes the best mage ive seen, who doesnt use energy shield, lvl 178, and can still almost beat lvl 191 full tank with awesome gear including dl wep, and thats just the pvp part, then i believe it works

Full tanks are pretty easy to beat since their DPS isn't much. I think there's just a certain point where lures get less and less effective. Sure, damage would still increase, but you're better off using points in another skill.
