A Plan for Mordris

#1
Since our first attempt, we have learned alot, Many thanks to all who have helped. What I am attempting to do is ouline a strategy, please offer up your inputs (being negative is fine, being negative without offering resolution ... you get the point.).

First, assign groups and group responsiblities.
Group 1 Three high level Druids, 1 Tank and the rest highest level DPS - I suggest no rangers in this group
Group 2 Three high level Druids, 1 Tank and the rest hig level DPS - Again, no rangers
Group 3 High level mix
Group 4 High level mix
Group Rangers
any number of groups dependant upon who shows up

**Note as we face Mordris, Mordris right will be our left Mordris right will be our right **** if any know the compass direction pls let me know and I will add

Each Group will have a leader who is hopefully aware of the strategy:)
Group 1's (and all odd # groups) responsibility Guards on Mordris right than Modris
Group 2's (and all even # groups) responsibility Guards on Mordris Left than Preistess
Rangers split between odds and evens untill Guards down than Mordris
Odd and Even groups 3 and above adds than Mordris/Priestess (odd numbers on Mordris, Evens on Priestess)

Battle outline
Odd groups to Mordris right, Evens to Mordris Left
Use the Kamanshi maneuver to draw guards out Starting with odds, when other guards run back then evens start
After guards down odds start Mordris, Evens start on Priestess draw them as far apart as we can
If during battle it is determined to bring priestess down, all but group 1 on her (ranger group have one or two stay on Mordris, the rest on Priestess), then all on Mordris

Note: We have tested the Kamanshi maneuver on each side, but not on both at with multiple groups, shoould be no problem. Timing should be real easy on this one
We may have to explain this maneuver, please see me in game

We will need the group captians to organize the groups and one person to oversee the battle
We will need to set a time for her demise
Friday evening Eastern Standard Time or Saturday Morning EST works best for me .... but this is not about me

Late arrivals - Annouce yourself and the person the group captain that needs you will answer or the person who is overseeing the battle will assign you

**If your hanging around to see the battle ... lend a hand and kill the adds

I look foward to bringing her down

Note to all the grammer and spelling police .... cheers:)

Side note: Drop rolling, who will be eligible and who will not be, needs to be agreed upon and a DM chosen Prior to starting the Battle

As of 28 Oct we have 41 full DL sets. 7 warrior, 9 rogues, 10 druids, 7 mages and 8 rangers. thats is 5 full groups plus 1.

*indicates reccomended captains for that group
** indicates reccomended battle overseer

Example groups: note levels may not be correct
Group 1 (Mordris grp)
Callator 195(w) *
Spigot 190(d)
Azz 185(d)
Toy 186(d)
Vir 190(r)
Kapec 192(r)
Divine 191(r)
DD 186(r)

Group 2 (Priestess grp)
Callumallen 190(w) *
Sabre 181(d)
Randall 180(d)
Bd 186 (d)
Sneakyazz 186 (r)
Vulture 185 (r)
Heli 184 (r)
Xrouge 184 (r)

Group 3 (Mordris)
080 190 (w)
Waio 190 (w) *
Da 189 (w)
Casti 175 (d)
Venus 171 (d)
Ade 188 (m)
Shen 188 (m)
Kam 181 (m)

Group 4 (Priestess)
1d 186 (w) *
elle 187 (w)
TheRaven 177 (r)
Emmi 177 (d)
Dulci 176 (d)
Dutch 182 (m)
Lc 178 (m)
Calli 177 (m)

Rangers Group
RR 182 *
AK 189 **
LG 184
Ang 187
BJ 190
Arti 174
Cp 190
Krak 186

Sunzi 175 (m) needing group

No doubt that others will show up, they can be in grp 5, 6, 7 etc .... thier job being adds buffs etc. I know that some in Virulents clan (and other clans too) will gladly help (not full dl yet) and some not eligible to dice, but they will gladly show up and support in anyway needed.

Granted, not all will be able to show up at the same time. but keeping groups 1 and 2 with the highest levels possible, 3 and 4 next highest, it gives good dps. Rangers in a single group ... they can split easy between Mordris and Priestess if needed.

I suggest that the overseer of battle be in the rangers group if possible.

***Chaoslord as placed the divine chicken Toby in Mordris cave. Thanks!

Rand,

Excellent job. I have one recomendation. Im not sure if 3 druids on calla is enough. We had 4 last attempt, and wasnt enough. However, by not having the adds and priestess near, it may be ok.

I think we should get a few grouops together and test out the strategy. Lets get as much info as possible prior to the actual attempt.

Also, each general/group leader needs to be versed very specifically of there duties ahead of time. adds will respawn and they willhave to be dealth with quickly.

Warrior bash will probably be very helpful to interupt skills on mordis and priestess. wonder if mordis group should have more warriors to bash?????

I think the priestess is the key. She has to be killed and moved away from mordis and adds. The problem with our first attempt was she healed the adds as well as mordis.

This is the old addage, divide and conquer.

These are just my ramblings and by no means trying to supplant anything that others have come up with. Group discussion on tactics and strategy is what we need.
AZZSAVER (DRUID 183+), SNEAKYAZZ (ROGUE 183+), BADAZZ (WARRIOR 144+)retired, MADMAC (RANGER 83)retarded lol

i have not been in on many of these experiments - so i am not as certain i should lead the entire battle - though i can see why you might want someone from the rangers group to do so. if randall, waio, or azz cannot do it, i will gladly do what i can.

I like the idea of rangers as a kind of reserve formation that can put their resources where needed at any given point in the battle. Maybe put an energy mage with us for our skill usage and put one of our current rangers who has sharpen weapons into a main dps group. just a thought.

need to set a time to experiment, i want to see the 'Kamanshi' in action so i get a feel for it. also want to see where we are dragging the various bosses so we can position the rangers appropriately.

Asking non-DL players to level on mobs in the cave while we kill mordris would be cool - keep those pesky adds at bay.

looking forward to it.

Thank you all for your OUTSTANDING inputs.
We definatly need to set a time for trials. Best times for me is Friday evenings (EST) Saturdays, or Sunday 2-5pm or 7pm and later ... again, not about me
My recommended groups are just that .... not written in stone.
pls note that groups 2 and 3 are mostly warriors and can bash, also druids in these groups to help the tank.
if we need to put a ranger in each group no problem we can adjust groups (same with mages) (I have not played a ranger so idk if sharpen weaps can be cast on an out of group person(yes Randall ... the eternal noob  ))
As far as taking out priestess, base plan allows for that.
I would like to test the following:
1. Kamanshi manuver on both sides (get ppl used to doing it and get positioning/timing down)
2. Time the kill of the guards with two groups on one
3. Time the kill of guard with just a group of rangers
4. With all guards killed pulling Priestess and Mordris apart (we may have to root one....)

My recommendations for group captians/battle overseer are just that ... I suggested AK based on his experiance and the fact that far off he has the better overall view, there are a number of ppl on this server that could do it also. Speaking for myself, I find it hard to concentrate on battle and text at the same time (yes it IS my age, and trifocals .... LOL)
We will need group captians for the adds groups, many high levels without full dl can fill those spots
Yes, the more ppl on the wyrms and trolls the better for us.
If there are any other points or things needed to test out. PLEASE speak up.
After more testing we can update the plan and responsiblities
