The Hybrid re-visited

#1
So recently I have been wasting time and alt books and even a couple if rebirths trying to figure out if it can be done again. So far many of my attempts have failed. With the addition of my new skimmer I have a free freeze skill. I've thought about incorporating it with a hyrbid set up in a way. I have also thought about Dusk/Dark shadow and the cloak it gives. Now with those two free skills is it possible to creat a hybrid that is as effective as a Element Mage? Myy conclusion is yes I'm positive with the absolute right equipment it is. Here's an explanation..

Skills
Freeze From Skimmer
Cloak from armour- depends on set
Fire Attune - 30/30 base
Fire Ball- say with rings 7/30
Ice Shards 30/30
Firestorm- 1\30
Ice Blast- 30/30
Energy Shield 30/30
Remaining skill points Lures of your choice..

Now as I progressed with this setup I've notices some drawbacks. However I've also noticed some advantages...
E-Shield
Cast Fire attune- Fireball(yes I call it this)lol and Storm. Shardz! Blast Freeze use Aura from armour. And Repeat until mob is down.

The problem with the freeze and aura is recharge time. So timing is a must..

Comment what you think can be improved and please say why or why not this will or will not work:) so far I think this can be done. But prove me wrong:)

Ik a friend of mine who has two mages and so he does something interesting :

For lvling he took his lower lvl mage, got him firestorm, ice blast, cloak of fire and idk what else (i assume fire bolt), took a druid and he also used combos i believe, he took a whole boggans room and killed at once, lots of xp.

For causal playing he has one mage whos hybrid and one mage for lures and maybe some dmg.

sounds good but is it possible for long term use

Yes, having 2 mages is much of a better combo than most think, i have another mage friend who duals mages, one is ice and one is fire, the fire has ice shards (and maybe even ice blast) as extra while the ice has fire bolt (and maybe even firestorm) as extra, each one's lures cover for the other making it a deadly combo.

When I was leveling my lure mage, I set him up as follows:
Firestorm
Ice Blast
Cloak of Fire
Firebolt
Ice Attune

Greater/Grand Ice Blast Rings
Greater/Grand Ice Attune rings

At first I was using my higher level ranger to half kill for him... I then switched to my level 60 druid which I found a LOT better.

At level 70ish, I would park my druid outside the first pirate cave, with over-max Sanctuary, maxed Bark, I would group the mage, cast both on him, cast cloak, run the mage into the room, grab 6-7 pirates, cast Ice Blast, Firestorm and Bolt any that were still standing. I tried to target the Corsairs/Bosuns with bolts since they lasted longer. I'd rinse and repeat the process. Needless to say, in two swoops I'd clear the room. It became a lot easier once I was 80+ moving into the rear pirate rooms. Ice Blast alone would kill 1-2 star pirates in one hit, Firestorm would typically redline the Corsairs, and Bosuns needed a bolt. Fire Cloak all the while was hitting for 50-100 points.

I think that two mages could very successfully do something similar in boggan rooms, or a druid/mage combo.

I do like the thinking outside the box for various class builds... I played Lineage II and loved the summoner class that could dual-wield swords and had a pet as well. It was a very tanky, fun spell casting class. I wish CH had more options with regards to viable builds that were effective as opposed to trying to create them with half-baked skills/items that kinda creates that template.

Ppl here dont accept it, they believe they must be strict roles with no other options. I can show u a post of someone saying that no one should ever get a kill over a rogue, not to mention the hate to warriors.

Yea it kinda sucks.

It would be sweet to see more variety of builds/items based on those builds similar to other games that have branches of classes.

Mages - Elemental, Summoners, Straight Casters, Battle Mages, Necromancer
Rangers - Spear wielder, Bowman, Spear/Shield
Rogue - Assassin (daggers), Burglar (light crossbow/dagger), Monk (knucks build)
Warrior - Tank, DPS, Paladin, Shadowknight
Druid - DPS, Cleric type, Shaman (buffer/debuffer)

I know they don't want to steal everything from other games... but having so much more to choose from and having more well rounded characters/groups would be a blast.

Maybe someday?
