Question: Isn't this something that would be (hopefully..) covered by Beta testers?
That would be after the devs coded everything so mistakes mean rework. I want to give them a good definition of initial requirements so they don't waste time.

Admin mentioned that crafting was one of the items they are working on for the next update.
Just to be clear, crafting is not due in the next update (3.1), but rather in some future update.

The next update will bring the mailing system and the new underground zone.

I'm not sure how far along the crafting system is in terms of conceptual development, but I'll try and find out and see if I can share anything with you all at this time.

If it turns out the team isn't quite ready to share anything at the moment, I'll try to see if, when they are, their ideas can be posted on the forum so they can get some feedback from everyone.

Thanks for the response. Please consider my questions in the first post. Use the forum to elicit requirements for the design.

Okay, I know im getting ahead here but wouldn't it also be cool to enchant/imbue crafted armor to give boosts such as heat damage or energy regen?

But on topic, I dont think we should be limited on crafting by level; just access to items that requires leveling for efficient item gathering. Like if wisp glowstones were to be included, people lvl 60+ would be able to get these items easier than a lvl 30 player for example. And the only way to get advanced items for crafting would be to kill level 130+ mobs or buy them from other players.

Factors such as value, exp (for ability/skill/level), use, and rarity also play a role in how it will all be set up. I am interested in this topic.
+1 for the first part about enchanting. I think with crafting so should follow choice and variety. The more decisions a player is able to make in order to become more unique the better. Are you a new player looking for more survivabiliy but still too poor for the lux items? Cool go craft some basic armor and add some vitality to it. Or are you a high level end game rouge looking to get an edge on the leader boards for largest hit? Cool! Go craft something with added damage. Of course there would be everything in between as well. Perhaps some vit on my helm some damage on my weapon some
Str with my chest and some movement speed on my boots.

Like somebody had mentioned earlier, I used to go around and inspect othe players gear just to see what it was but now it's just like... "oh there goes another all blue wearing guy, I know what that is" or "his sword is glowing white, I know what that is" games become boring in the end game when everyone has the same stuff. When only one item is considered the "best" then eventually tons of people attain it and everyone looks/is the exact same. There is no sense of character ownership with a system like that, it's either you have the best stuff, or you don't and are working on it and it's the same parade of marching look alikes that walk past you regularly.

Pretty much there now, Unfortunate
