What about BOTing? I saw a player on Taranis yesterday running around with 4 druids following him. The druids moved exactly the same and were obviously set to auto follow. They all were healing the same time as well. We were in a group killing all seeing with this player and it was very ironic that the druids only healed him, they never spoke even while they were slowling being killed. And then just remained dead for several minutes until the main player had a second to revive them.
I know there is nothing you can do about people using 2 devices and thats fine, but BOTing is ridiculous and there should be a way to stop it.
That sounds like Tyrant, though I don't remember if Tar is his server. He penta boxes, but doesn't bot. Was it a tank and four Druids? If it is him and he is penta boxing he does not have time to talk. If he talks he dies. If his Druids were dying I wonder how your group would have been without him? Try talking to the tank when he is not fighting and see.
Tyrant isn't the toons name. I don't believe Tyrant is on my server. Yes tank and four druids. I've tried talking to him outside of bosses on several occasions and never get a response. Most of the time when I bump into him on a boss I have to do everything I can to get him to group and not ks. I'd say the toons name but it will only start up drama. Already sent a ticket to support several days ago to please look into it, but haven't gotten a response and doubt I ever will.
Yes solarus, it sounds like I'm the one you are describing. The tank you're referring to is hubris as caliban said.
First, let me apologize for not speaking to you. I've seen you tons of times in the game. Never saw any of your messages, not saying that you didn't send them tho. I disregard every chat message 98% of the time im playing, it frees up a ton of time. Multi boxing is very time consuming. Penta boxing is even more so.
I do not join your groups because there is never room for all five toons; if there was room, your group would be upset that I was taking the loot. If you've seen me hacking on your bosses before outside of group then I was doing you a favor not KSing you. A tank and four druids aren't really an effective KSing combo if that makes sense to you. I tank mobs for others. Even For people outside of clan. You can't really call me and ask me to do it because I won't read your message but if I see a boss wiping a group I will step in and take the damage for them. I never fragment my group to join yours with one or two toons because multi boxing out of group and tryin to target is next to impossible.
You said you'd believe it was an effective multitasker if it were two or three, not five. Well, let me explain it this way. I'm an extremely effective multitasker, matter of fact, multi tasking is much of what my profession as an air traffic controller consists of. That, and situational awareness (another huge part of my job) both are needed to multi box effectivelly and I'm considered an expert by the military in both of those character traits. The methodical, perfect system of casting that you speak of is just that... Took me a year and a half of perfecting and polishing to create the systematic approach I use to cast all my Druids. Their heals are timed together to never land at the same time and all the spells in between are cast in a sequential order, for example:
Druid 1 - big heal, group heal, big heal, heal over time, big heal, wards, big heal, meditate, repeat
Druid 2 - big heal, group heal, big heal, defensive buff, big heal, wards, big heal, med, repeat
Druid 3 - big heal, group heal, big heal, abundance buff, big heal, wards, big heal, med, repeat
Druid 4 - big heal, group heal, big heal, group buff, big heal, wards, big heal, med, repeat
*this system can be ammended on the spot in reaction to anything the mob is doing. All spells can be interupted and a different, more appropriate, skill cast to counter what a boss may be doing (like casting all four group heals at same time to react to the boss doing aoe dmg) so you says it's like each character has a brain like its independently controlled... It is, they share my brain and I control each of them the same that you control yours. Only difference is I don't have to talk to myself to figure out which Druid is casting what. I don't have to ask the healers i they are ready for me to begin the fight, I don't have to hold a discussion about where the characters will stand to counter aoe attack... Because I don't need to talk to myself to figure out what I already know I'm doing. I hope that made sense.
Now, if you're able, imagine four I touches vertically adjacent to one another and all four devices targeting hubris and all four Druids have spells in exact same spot as each other and imagine me running down the line with one hand for healers and other hand controlling tank casting. Now... Imagine me trying to do that during a boss fight and chat with you.
Like madonion said, auto follow = bandage wounds and is easily interruptible to cast a higher Priority spell.
By the way, thanks to all the posters that were defending my name while I was unaware of this post. Also, mad props to mad *** for being twice as good as me at doing what we do. That guy handles 9 devices if I remember correctly and he's a maniac. Madonion, if you're reading this and think you'd be interested in ATC, I think you would be good at RADAR Approach Control (RAPCON) or Terminal RADAR Approach Control (TRACON) if you're civilian.
I didn't realize I was stepping on your toes by allowing you to kill a boss without using idols and not asking for anything in return. I will avoid doing that for you and your clan in the future to avoid any further conflicts.
Very respectfully,
Tyrant of Tarranis (and friends!)
