Woops.
Yea should have said armor provides protection, and the heavier the armor the less energy you will have in total.
I don't have time right now.
But this is the plan.
Starting from the tower leystone in ow and targeting the first 1 star rock monster on the left.
My eshield is 1100. Take off any eshield plus rings.
Time it to see how long it takes to do 1100 damage with gear on, no eshield. Switch to stat page and watch your health diminish 1100.
Time it to see how long it takes to do 1100 damage with no gear on, use eshield. When health starts to reduce immediately end clock.
Time it to see how long it takes to break eshield and hit health, use gear and eshield.
Get at least 5 different numbers for each and average it out.
Re: Armor affects E Shield?
#12No, armour doesn't effect it. The description says the shield takes 1300 dmg, and that's basically it. It's same with full frozen celestial and with full spellbound. It absorbs 1300 dmg from the enemy, meaning that if, for example, a mob HAS 1300 DAMAGE, u take NO damage. kinda hard to explain. Pm admin or any beta tester, they'll know.

#13They understand that it has a certain amount of damage. The question is will a buff or armor affect the rate at which you take that damage. No, armour doesn't effect it. Purely hypothetical example, that is not based on real tests (and certainly not based on reality):
1. A Rabid Dog can 100% of the time hit 100 points of damage. So, with your 1300 e-shield, it will take 13 hits to destroy the shield.
2. Druid casts Bark which gives you armor. Now the Rabid Dog attack only hits for 50 points of damage. It would take 26 hits to destroy the e-shield.
We know this is the basic case without e-shield, because we can see the numbers on the screen. E-shield doesn't allow you to see what the enemy hit you for, because no health is taken away... they are just chipping away at the shield.
The thing is that they can't see the point value of the hit with e-shield cast.

Re: Armor affects E Shield?
#14Correct. Buff/Armor won't affect the stated number; but question is will buff/armor affect how much is removed that it from each hit. They understand that it has a certain amount of damage. The question is will a buff or armor affect the rate at which you take that damage.
VERY minimal testing last night (barely testing but did run with a druid and bark) and it does Seem like Shield lasted longer. Been leveling off bloodgrooves, and can pretty much tell when e shield will go down on a 3 or 4 star warrior, and e-shield lasts a lil longer with bark on.
not sure if this "testable" with spell dmgs, as the dmg seems sooo much more random.

Re: Armor affects E Shield?
#15Energy shield is simply a mage's abundance. What's been done to the shield cannot be undone with heals or regen.
The user takes the same amount of damage, only to the shield, not health.
So if a mage is up against a melee mob and equips a shield, the energy shield from the mage lasts longer than that of a mage with a golden blade. The energy shield of a mage wearing first tier warden armor is not as great as the energy shield of the same mage wearing frozen celestial.
Armor and resistances do affect energy shield. But think of energy shield as a non renewable abundance.

Re: Armor affects E Shield?
#16E-shield is a little more powerful than abundance, but in abundance u can heal the dmg taken. The only armor that I can think of that would effect shield would be EVERY ARMOR PIECE because the more weight u carry, the less total mp u have. however, u can add strength to reduce this effect. Some armor adds focus, and the amount of mp u have effects your shield power.

#18Does this mean that since armor decreases my energy points it also decreases my e shields effectiveness?E-shield is a little more powerful than abundance, but in abundance u can heal the dmg taken. #20This doesn't make sense, and I'm not sure if some of them is even correct.E-shield is a little more powerful than abundance, but in abundance u can heal the dmg taken. I think you may be confusing Energy (as affected by equipped weight) and Focus, which is Not affected (unless you know other wise?); decrease in Mp/energy shouldn't affect e-shield, other than the ability to cast it, I guess.
Str affects how much equipped weight affects Focus? Can you post/show back up? Would love to see; when I tried figuring this out, I pulled out my non-existent hair with no result.
