How would they lose money if the quest was made a weekly or monthly?

If its a weekly repeatable I and everyone would just wait a week, do the quest and reset vs buying for any gold or plat. Don't underestimate peoples frugalness these days.

you also forget there is a new mail system. and some people have 4 alts all at the level 60+ level, so thats 5 books a week.

If there is a weekly quest for alts and rebirths then you might as well remove them from the plat store and just sell them in lux shop.

The books you receive are no trade, and if there was a weekly/monthly quest those books should also be no trade.

my point is given the choice I would wait a few days to reset and spend said plat on xp lix or not spend it at all.

not saying its a bad idea. I like free stuff. but if they make those books freebies my plat buying will be 0 from now on. I have all my unlocks I need atm. resets are the only reason for me to buy plat and the rest I would sell or stock up on resets for later. if it wasn't for the new mystery chest my last plat purchase would have still been 2 months ago and counting.

So you're saying that if you could get rebirths and alts from the quest, that you would contiue to buy plat because of other items like the mystery chest? If that's the case then OTM wouldn't lose any money at all.

I really hope your joking. Most people don't respec more then once a week. When they do they use a plat item (which someone paid cash for) to do it.

Technically the quest is repeatable. A few hours playing a new toon with lux gear and you are at the Dustwither quest line. Complete the quest for the Alt book and then delete your little toon and make another one. Rinse and repeat. I wanted to learn a bit about other classes so before update I completed this quest a couple times (as a warrior and a druid). I saved up those alt books!

Rebirths a little bit more difficult though.

OMG I JUST BOUGHT SOME TRADEABLE ALT BOOKS FROM A GUY WHO HAD PLAT AND THEN I DID THE FREAKIN ALT AND REBIRTH QUEST
so now i have a no trade alt and rebirth book that im not gonna use cuz i already have a good build

This is like asking for defector quest to be repeatable....
