Re: AFK NEEDS TO BE STOPPED!!!!!!!!!!
#11Totally in agreement with this statement. It causes unnecessary nuisance tbh with you:(
I'm not a low level and I find it annoying. I honestly don't have a problem if it doesn't affect the world, but at times, it is ridiculous. With the pace of new content being released, and the explosion of Ipad and Iphone sales during the month of December, this game has seen an influx population. While it's not "every single spawn" yet, you can see stonevale getting crowded. I didn't take a picture, but I should've; Falgren's druid circle had an afker at every single druid spawn point....If it was up to me, i'd say the lower levels are simply jealous that they can't afk (profitably) themselves. But you simply forget we all had to manually kill those monsters we afk at one stage too.
And to those who are complaining about xp afkers, druids: Simply find another spot (Sorry druids, no disrespect). Every other class: If you can't ks an afker using skills OR grab agro first, you probably shouldn't be there in the first place and should reconsider weaker monsters to train on because you would have less chance of getting xp there if they wern't afk (disreguarding the times they are logged off).
I can guarantee you there is not a player for every spawn in your world as most people on the forums seem to be making it out to be. If there is, i'll make a character in your world and take a look for myself.

To say it's only Driuids or low levels "who are jealous" is completely asinine and ignorant
I imagine you didn't poll the CH community for who is opposed to AFKing to back up your statements.
The market gets inflated when you've got people who afk to make money everyday. There's a guy on my server who claims to make 10k a day just by afking. You think a lower lvl coming in can afford a 30-40k Crown disc, let alone the 150k+ Dragon disc? Obviously Warden set is something to work towards (different debate entirely, it's just an example of the inflation). What happens based on inflation? Vendor prices get higher, making it harder for people who don't afk to make the money required to buy money sink items; giving afkers now an advantage based on expensive vendor weapons/armor and not just gold. It's cyclical, always in the AFKers favor.
Go look up Turbine Inc.; creator's of LOTR Online, DnD Online, and Asheron's Call.
Major consensus of why Asheron's Call had a huge loss of players back in the early 2000s; inability of Developers to remove AFKers and an ill-advised release of AC2. Many players who went to AC2 and disliked it did not return to AC1 due to the AFKing issue.
And people who get their items through buying gold are any better? I understand buying gold helps OTM, but if I were you, i'd see at a player's level, Bought gold is on equal grounds, if not worse, than afkers. With PvP being introduced, I'd rather not allow players the access to better items through AFKing means (being able to purchase with AFK'd gold or being high enough level/skill from AFKing).
In no way does that affect the "afk situation" at all. This is because people who afk are less likely to buy gold and replacing f2p with p2p means everyone is less likely to buy it too.I know this game has a "wallet warrior" effect, but while it's free, it's the only way for OneThumb to make money.
Maybe in order to make it fair, OneThumb should remove purchasable gold and move to the free-to-play with premium upgrade template. Who knows.
I was trying to be considerate to druids as possible, I understand they are getting one of the short ends of the stick here. But hey, so is everyone else that can't secure a spawn point.P.S. It's hard enough to level as a druid, be nice to your local healer wiil ya? Try leveling one with KSers abound, it's a very thankless job for what is required to level one. I for one, thank the druids on Crom for their help and support.
