Lol. No offence but this is extreamly idiotic. Afk is for anyone at any time, for however long the person wants to be afk.

What i mean is that people afk usually when they need to (during sleep, bathroom, chat, or simply just a break). There is nothing wrong with this.

Some people, however, afk more than they actually play. They might be busy, at work, or whatever. Nothing wrong with this either!! If the arent active much thats their choice! Let them afk all day! It benifiets everone online cause they get bosses, rare mobs, and can level up with less people active.

So please dont be an idot lol.
World - Sulis
Clan - Toxic

H3ROsRogue - lvl 220 rogue
H3ROsRanger - lvl 200 ranger
H3ROsMage - lvl 220 mage
H3ROsDruid - lvl 220 druid
H3ROsWarrior - lvl 200 warrior
H3ROsLocker - lvl 190 rogue

Can't imagine losing kills to a ranger in 2019.

...If it was up to me, i'd say the lower levels are simply jealous that they can't afk (profitably) themselves. But you simply forget we all had to manually kill those monsters we afk at one stage too.

And to those who are complaining about xp afkers, druids: Simply find another spot (Sorry druids, no disrespect). Every other class: If you can't ks an afker using skills OR grab agro first, you probably shouldn't be there in the first place and should reconsider weaker monsters to train on because you would have less chance of getting xp there if they wern't afk (disreguarding the times they are logged off).

I can guarantee you there is not a player for every spawn in your world as most people on the forums seem to be making it out to be. If there is, i'll make a character in your world and take a look for myself.

:|
I'm not a low level and I find it annoying. I honestly don't have a problem if it doesn't affect the world, but at times, it is ridiculous. With the pace of new content being released, and the explosion of Ipad and Iphone sales during the month of December, this game has seen an influx population. While it's not "every single spawn" yet, you can see stonevale getting crowded. I didn't take a picture, but I should've; Falgren's druid circle had an afker at every single druid spawn point.

I know it doesn't affect me as much because I only get decent xp from the mobs people can't solo while afk (Frostroot Elders, Ember Lancers, Dreadcloud Wisps, and Bosses), but I can see how it would affect those who are up and coming. I'd like to see CH add more servers. Even with the new zone, you'll have people level through it in less than a week. Then what? Wait a few more months til Apple approves further game changes? Even in the off-peak hours the competiton is amazing.

To say it's only Driuids or low levels "who are jealous" is completely asinine and ignorant; I imagine you didn't poll the CH community for who is opposed to AFKing to back up your statements. The market gets inflated when you've got people who afk to make money everyday. There's a guy on my server who claims to make 10k a day just by afking. You think a lower lvl coming in can afford a 30-40k Crown disc, let alone the 150k+ Dragon disc? Obviously Warden set is something to work towards (different debate entirely, it's just an example of the inflation). What happens based on inflation? Vendor prices get higher, making it harder for people who don't afk to make the money required to buy money sink items; giving afkers now an advantage based on expensive vendor weapons/armor and not just gold. It's cyclical, always in the AFKers favor.

Go look up Turbine Inc.; creator's of LOTR Online, DnD Online, and Asheron's Call.

Major consensus of why Asheron's Call had a huge loss of players back in the early 2000s; inability of Developers to remove AFKers and an ill-advised release of AC2. Many players who went to AC2 and disliked it did not return to AC1 due to the AFKing issue.

With PvP being introduced, I'd rather not allow players the access to better items through AFKing means (being able to purchase with AFK'd gold or being high enough level/skill from AFKing).

While WoW has/had more things going for it, they have staunchly opposed Unattended Combat Macroing (UCM), which I think has helped them stay successful.

I know this game has a "wallet warrior" effect, but while it's free, it's the only way for OneThumb to make money.

Maybe in order to make it fair, OneThumb should remove purchasable gold and move to the free-to-play with premium upgrade template. Who knows.

P.S. It's hard enough to level as a druid, be nice to your local healer wiil ya? Try leveling one with KSers abound, it's a very thankless job for what is required to level one. I for one, thank the druids on Crom for their help and support.

To say it's only Driuids or low levels "who are jealous" is completely asinine and ignorant

I never refered to druids in my quote.

And it seems you(and everyone else) are treating afking as if it is an exclusive club. Anyone can do it, as long as they put in the hard yards first. And if you're already at that stage, then you've already got a foot in the door.

But fine, I'll retract that statement and replace it: If you're at a high enough level to do so, but complain that you can't, you are jealous you didn't get the spawn first. If you're too low of a level to afk, and complain that you can't, you are jealous that these higher levels are making money so easily. This way i'm neither asinine or ignorant because I know exactly what is going on. Yes?
I imagine you didn't poll the CH community for who is opposed to AFKing to back up your statements.

That's a double-edged sword, because I'm sure you haven't either and questioned their motives into partitioning for the removal of afk.
The market gets inflated when you've got people who afk to make money everyday. There's a guy on my server who claims to make 10k a day just by afking. You think a lower lvl coming in can afford a 30-40k Crown disc, let alone the 150k+ Dragon disc? It's cyclical, always in the AFKers favor.
  • Purchased gold would take a larger affect on inflation than afking does. For arguments sake; lets say there are 10 afkers in a world at one time and they made an average of 10k every 24 hours. So that's 100k. In 5 days, that will be 500k. In 5 days, all it takes is one person to buy the 500k gold pack and have equal effect on inflation as afkers. And for adult players, those 5 days will most likely roll over pay day.
  • Vendor prices never change.
  • afkers will always pay more than people who don't afk. Because those who go to the lux store will need to sell their item at one stage as well. To do this, they can either sell back to vendors (50%) or sell to players (55-80%). So infact, people who don't afk, using your example, will save 20-45% off lux items.
  • You're right, it is cyclical and afkers are always in the favor against regular, non-paying players, but non-paying players benift from afkers, and afkers are below those who purchase gold.

Another double-edged sword. I can easily say that the poorly-made AC2 was the reason why Turbine lost out instead on blaming the afker's in the older version of the game.

And I could make reference to Runescape, why people who could afford to purchase gold were better off than those who afk'ed (See guthan's desert training for those who say you can't afk runescape), But i'll spare going into a deep discussion about it, because we are playing CH, which have different other underlying factors than AC and RS do, and what dev's do on another game is completly different to this one for the same reason.
With PvP being introduced, I'd rather not allow players the access to better items through AFKing means (being able to purchase with AFK'd gold or being high enough level/skill from AFKing).
And people who get their items through buying gold are any better? I understand buying gold helps OTM, but if I were you, i'd see at a player's level, Bought gold is on equal grounds, if not worse, than afkers.
I know this game has a "wallet warrior" effect, but while it's free, it's the only way for OneThumb to make money.

Maybe in order to make it fair, OneThumb should remove purchasable gold and move to the free-to-play with premium upgrade template. Who knows.
In no way does that affect the "afk situation" at all. This is because people who afk are less likely to buy gold and replacing f2p with p2p means everyone is less likely to buy it too.
P.S. It's hard enough to level as a druid, be nice to your local healer wiil ya? Try leveling one with KSers abound, it's a very thankless job for what is required to level one. I for one, thank the druids on Crom for their help and support.
I was trying to be considerate to druids as possible, I understand they are getting one of the short ends of the stick here. But hey, so is everyone else that can't secure a spawn point.

And I always thank my druids. And everyone else who participated in a boss kill. Every time. 8-)

EDIT:Ignore typo's, i'm very tired atm and cbb getting them all.

I don't understand:
How does AFKn affects anyone's game play?
-Also I have a alt of all classes and I afk on all of them.
-since I was lvl1 I have seen AFKn and it never affected me.
-low lvls can afk too, theirs mobs for every lvl.
-since buying Gold is part of the game, I blv that AFKn to make Gold should be okay also. I have seen people buy gold and exp pots, seen them hit 50 lvls in two days. I don't hear ya complain about that...

Conclusion:
It doesn't affect the gamers game play.
Everyone can decide to do it, any class any lvl.
Is the reason why many choose to play Since they can't buy gold neither spend a big amount of hours playing.

I dont see how AFKing is a problem. theres times when im not even away and all do is AFK and watch the screen for a Boss call.

That coming from me is alot druids shouldnt be jelious I can afk a Master who Embraced himself ive watched my screen while i afked a frostroot branchtwister. If im active during the day training and doing Bosses. I can easily make 15-20k a day with sold items. If i AFK all day i can easily make 10k theres a huge difference there.

Reason is if you are actively killing these things you are focusing on all spawns while i myself if AFK would be focusing on one spawn waiting for say (x) ammount of time for that mob to spawn. What an AFKer makes off one spawn kill in say druid circle (10-20 coin) You can easily make twice that before another mob spawns on the AFKer.

most of the time i dont mind afkers, but sometimes its REALLY annoying when i want to talk to someone, and there not there. so thats annoying, also it is almost like xp stealing, but in a twisted sort of way.i think that this is just a case of mid-levels (like my level or there abouts) being jealous of not being able to farm gold and xp and stuff.

but im glad that there is going to be a servers upgrade :D cant tell you how many times i couldnt move and was being beaten by a wisp or something.
