is Defensive Spikes worth the points as a Spear Ranger???
Im lvl 120
Skills I have:
30/30 Entangle
30/30 Double Attack
30/30 Sharpen Weapons
30/30 Light Heal

Defensive spikes is an underpowered version of fire cloak. should u use it? No.

I recommend bolas instead. now u may be thinking, "woah fish, im gonna be close range Wtf would i need bolas for??" well, 3 reasons.
1, your either out of energy or health and u need your sigils to kick in. simply bolas, run back and heal.

2, your killing a mob and suddenly u get ambushed by several other mobs (this situation usually gets me crying on the inside). taking hits from 1 mob is alot easier than taking hits from 2. bolas 1 mob run back and while its after u, kill the other.

3, everyone needs bolas at a boss these days!

These are the right first 4 skills to be using as a Spear ranger.

I would recommend putting more points as you get them into Def Spikes to get that little bit of extra dmg.

Depending on what you are killing, you can take points out of Double Attack and Entangle until you need them. Right now, you are able to use double attack (DA) on a lvl 150 mob. You're not doing any damage anyway, so the DA points over 26 are being wasted atm.

You could be grouping on mobs up to 150, in which case, the points over 26 aren't a waste.

I typically only put points into Entangle/DA up to the level I need them, max out Light Heal & Sharp Weps, and put the rest into Def Spikes.

At the end of the day, the question is what can help you more when it comes to skills. Having Bolas as a Spear Ranger would be a nice luxury, but you would have to give up one of the 4 skills you mentioned to get bolas.

unless you have like 10 regens this tragedy is good, if your a non-plat relatively poor person wit no regens then bolas is useful
