I think the rebalancing of energy and skills and lux items was tremendous and good for the game.

The heroic rejuv and offhand items broke the game which allows everyone with 5 focus with unlimited energy. Everyone got spoiled. No one should be at full energy all the time when fighting.

Obsolete skills like Energy Well and Energy Boost are useful once again.

I say kudos to admin/dev team for getting this thing right.

Im not sure what you guys are doing wrong with your mages and warriors but ive seen mages hit over 600 with iceshards on the new mobs and over 400 with firebolt. Plus the armor for a mage isnt the worst armor in the game you need to fix your build and instead of trying to take on things that are 10-30 lvls higher than you stick to the things that are 5 lvls under or above because they all give the same xp.

Warriors with the right build drop the new mobs quickly one after another. Instead of talking by a solo standpoint group up with someone you get xp quicker and its easier.

Mages who lose energy try maxing boost and energy well and using those and dont max your damage skills you need to max what is essential not what you think will help you kill faster. Its survival not damage!

As for a warrior dont be an all damage build thats just stupid and dont be an all vit buiold either you yourself have to balance it out. Furthermore dont max your skills its a waste of energy when you can get damage enhancers from mobs plus the crytsla weapons add 200 to your selected weapon ability.

If your having trouble its all of your own accord you need to find your build and work through it not ask for a solution to fit your unperfected build.

Also something else to keep in mind is the range of fireball. I actually took the time to play as ranger as well as play alongside a ranger of close lvl to my mage to compare arrow distance vs. fireball distance. Given that mages are a ranged class we should be able to cast a fireball from a similar distance as that of ranger, this is typical of mage classes in other mmos. When I am spotted by a mob and that mob casts ranged spells on me and hits, I have to first run up closer to that mob before my fireball will take off, causing me to take more dmg before I can deliver any. Such is not the case when I play as ranger. I understand that ice shards needs to be a shorter distance than fireball because it is much more damaging than fireball. The cast time for ice shards seems more adequately balanced in this update, which is a good thing.


Maybe willpower should increase the distance you can cast too :)

Interesting, but you know we want to have max damage! Help my pride! Teach me how to balance this, I need a lot of help.

I am putting points into well but is it really worth points into boost? it gives like 1 mana each level per tick! My firebolt is at 48 mana at only level 15. An extra mana per tick per point in energy boost doesn't seem like it will do anything. With only a couple points in well I can crank off 2 extra firebolts.

Well, the response from admin wasn't really much of a response. Given that there are like five threads on this forum started by different people about the cost of energy shield you would think something more would be said on the issue. I got rid of that bunk shield skill from my build and have tons of energy to cast skills. My shards can hit up 1100 and I don't have to die because I ran out of energy casting a broken shield skill that some fan boy in beta abused in the pvp arena. Yes, it's true. That is why energy shield was harshly nerfed. Instead I went back to adding more vitality to make up for the hp lost due to lack of shield...LAME. Skills were sometimes broken or nerfed in Order and Chaos but not this bad (unless you were an assassin)...my god. At least the basic concept for class construction was on the money though.

And yeah, warriors should get tired. In others games it's sometimes referred to as morale. They can't hit unless they keep morale up. In this game they can swing freely as often as they want to.

And as for the beta tester who tried to sell me a winter king wand on several occasions days before the update went live, shame on you. Glad I never bought it. The guy obviously knew it would be useless in the update and was trying to make a quick bit of cash to buy his crystal set knowing the price that it would be ahead of time.

Hello I noticed this post and read through it and saw what others had to say and I also noticed the only ones disagreeing with the new energy costs are mages, I saw warriors Druids rogues all those who don't have the issue now I'm one of the highest mages in game and I even have issues with energy and I have about 30 more focus points than vitality. Energy has definatly become a problem and luxery rejuv items are almost pointless now because it takes potions to stay alive anymore I fight 1-4 levels above my level for training because that is the best experience and anything under that you lose exp. it is a fact that we were almost all robbed for our skill damage not just mages which sucks for all of us because now need roughly level 23 skill to hit the same as pre-update skill lvl 15 and it is costing a ton more energy to do so and at the same Time the new mobs hit so hard you have to use potions or wait 5 minutes to fight another well 1 minute for me because I have a ton of sigils and to top off all the damage and energy bs mages new diamond armor and weapons are defective mainly the weapons so not only are we using tons of energy to hit like crap we aren't even doing the dmg or hit accuracy we are supposed too. And yes I understand the five new skills are going to help you out a ton blah blah but how do you get them? I have been trying to get incinerate since the update the pages needed for the skill unheard of no one has them so I assume you have to fight new bosses to get them and can't beat the higher end bosses because everyone is too weak, as for the new defensive abilitys I have gotten all quests available to me and not one of them give me a defensive ability. So in fact mages have been nerfed as the others have said no defense, no power, high energy costs, defective gear, and ghost abilitys and skills I for one won't be playing anymore until the diamond gear is fixed it is a waste of my time and money to over use potions to stay alive because you guys didn't have enough mages to beta test their class and give proper feedback my advice recruit more mages to beta test their class you can't ask someone who uses a warrior everyday to test a Mage and base thier thoughts off of a low class character..anyway now I'm starting to make myself angry soo gonna end my ranting here before I leave a stupid comment.

Hi there

this was changed in response to lots of complaints about 5,5,5,400 type builds.

However I'm sure we can improve the balancing of the energy costs going forwads.

We also did give everyone more energy per forus, more base focus, improve the power of energy regen spells and added sacrifice to compensate somewhat for this.

Yes there had to be done something, I totally agree with that. Mages and druid should spend more points on focus then any other stat. But this is also changed by making focus also part of the damage the caster classes do.

BUT melee classes can do much damage without even using skills they can even use haste gloves to do even more damage (no haste(casting) gloves excist for druids and mages), a melee class put some points into focus to use there skills and they can easily keep up with the regen items.

Then we have mages and druids that totaly depend on skills, the high energycost on the skills and the less regen items give is just unfair. For my opinion the casting classes should get a reduce in energy cost in skills.
