Since the last software download you cannot get past the login screen if you don't have a functioning connection to OTM servers.

There appears to be an issue when too many logins per second happen which is more likely during server resets, raid boss calls and similar game critical events. This is why it seems to hit the most active worlds, with the most pressure by clans to simeltaneously log nearly all active accounts at the same time more than others. However it seems to have a low chance of affecting anyone at any time.

Symptoms include getting stuck on the splash screen, getting a long login where you are shown that many worlds are down including the one you tried to log on (when they are not), and getting a patch server not found error. The symptoms persist for several minutes to even an hour, simply closing the app and trying again do not help.

If you are having problems at a server reset or boss call the problem is just likely to reoccur as long as people keep attempting spam logging. This advice can help stop the persistence of the bug and when login attempts/second die back down, to log faster. There appears to be some kind of timeout where the connection issue resets on its own in many cases but this can be shortened.

If you have internet connectivity, such as safari (for iOS), then the issue appears to be a handshaking or similar when connecting. Many, if not nearly all people, have full connectivity during this issue.

What fixes it on many devices is to:

1) use a vpn. There are apps for this on iOS and android.

2) force close ch, try another connection type (different wifi, or switch to from cellular), launch CH

3) force close CH, close your connection (example:
Turn off wifi or cellular data), open CH, wait on the splash screen for about 30 seconds, force close CH, open/enable your connection, open CH again and log normally.

Again this will not let every person log instantly, nor will it "fix" OTM servers. It has, however, helped at least a fair amount of people log faster after experiencing this issue.

I haven't tested this on android devices, if people develop problems, but I have heard option 1 does work. I have feedback from others that this does help some people to log in, given the above limitations. There will hopefully be a fix soon.

1 double tap the home button
2a on newer iOS versions 8+ swipe off the app by moving it upward
2b on older iOS versions hold down the app on the mini bar and then tap the x
