Really ticks me off when people misquote or strawman my words, and here Robert goes and doesn't even care.

To start, I don't think that me voicing my opinion (albeit inflammatory) that this is a general community issue and not a gendered issue, and the OP is being immature, isn't derailing. IMO the OP is making a general community issue that most games have, which is presumably younger players being inconsiderate and asking inappropriate a gender issue. Furthermore, the type of player that harasses people in such a way almost certainly isn't the same player that cares about the community enough to engage on the forum.

What part of this was a discussion you absolute white knight moron? The OP has made one post the entire time that she's played the game, 'she' clearly doesn't care about the community or discussions within it, and didn't even care enough to reply to 'her' own thread. The OP was hostile towards to forum community, which again is almost definitely not the same demographic of player that she was ranting about. You and her are further perpetuating the irrational logic that women are any different to men, they're people too. The fact that 'she's' saying her gender or age aren't relevant, while simultaneously throwing her gender and age into the post irrelevantly defeats the entire purpose of her argument. TBH for the first few years that I played I didn't even share my age, 'she's' entirely free to do the same. The OP also said that she had people asking for 'her' picture while pretending to be a male, further self defeating her already ridiculous point.

If you need me to pick apart the other supportive replies to the topic let me know, I mean no one asked the "38 y/o mom" for her age or gender, yet she volunteered the information, and there's also a 'woman' on the topic complaining that people think she's a guy because she talks like a guy... I mean have all of you been smoking the same stuff? If you talk to someone on the phone and they have a deep voice and claim to be a woman are you being an ******* by being skeptical?

Yes, I knew she was talking about typing in game. I was just giving another example, closer to real life characteristic that hint at gender(pitch of voice), to give another example of why it's not outrageous someone would assume that someone who types like a male is a male. If someone in-game told you they loved Barbie, you'd assume they were a little girl. If someone told you they play Call of Duty, you'd assume they were a little boy. (Joke btw) That is not a problem

I don't really care about the gender of any players, I have friends both male and female in game (Mostly male though). What does it matter if someone doesn't believe someone else? Just don't talk to them. They clearly aren't the best choice of friend in game.

Furthermore Throwaway, you're self defeating your entire point altogether anyway. Now you're hiding your identity entirely and the only piece of information you gave in your forum post is that you're a 21y/o female(seems like you have an obsession with people knowing), which I'm assuming most forum users, including myself, absolutely do not care about even slightly. Please grow up.

If someone you met in real life was asking for photos of you, you'd probably tell them no and there's a good chance you wouldn't continue socialising with that person. Creepy people are creepy people, you making a ranty forum post about it isn't going to change anything.

As a forum user you should have known that there is a specific forum section called 'The Rants Forum' for stuff like this.

P.S, I didn't actually doubt anyone was a woman sincerely, but the fact that's the only thing I know about them is silly. Defining yourself by gender and age, and then getting annoyed because some people don't believe the clearly most important thing about you.
